One of my favorite scenes from this last episode.. After ALL these years of seeing Ryan on screen this was our first time seeing him be humanized. There’s so much depth to Ryan’s character but he never gets the chance to show it. Especially with constantly being on survival mode, but for some reason we start to see a different side of him with Sabrina. This Episode really showcases how the arc of Ryan & Sabrina’s relationship begins. With ALL that said.. I want to say thank you to @jennanolen_ for helping make that a possibility. I remember going to her 9 years ago, pitching this character and what she meant to me (honestly just throwing a Hail Mary in HOPES that she’d be interested because at that time Sabrina was still in early stages of her development) 😅 But sure enough Jenna trusted my crazy a*s and she was in! Ever since then she’s been there every step of the way as we fleshed out “Sabrina” to become the character she is today. Sabrina was never just a character to help guide Ryan’s story, Sabrina was a symbol. A representation of what it is not give up, to go against adversity, to be strong willed, to hold your own, and even the WORLD seems like it’s against you, to still have a heart.. and Jenna performs JUST that. Thank you for trusting me all these years, thank you bringing this character to life for people around the world to enjoy, thank you for pushing me to become a better performer. One of my favorite scenes from the show.. These 2 conveyed exactly what I wanted this scene to represent. The amount of responses I’ve gotten from this scene alone is a testament to everyone’s performances, because in reality it’s just a bunch of friends coming together with a camera but to people around the world, it felt REAL. This was one of the more intense scenes I’ve done and I told everyone coming on set to be ready. To get the performances I wanted, I knew this one was going to be emotionally taxing and that’s exactly what fed the scene. Shoutout everyone who helped make this scene come to life! This scene meant something personal to me and I want to thank @jennanolen_ for trusting me in going into a place to get this amazing performance & I want to thank @landonmoss for not only stepping in knowing the intensity of the role but also for knowing what it meant to me. I told him I needed his presence to fill the room when he walked in. I needed intimidation, passion, frustration, I needed to feel scared of him even behind the camera.. and he did just that. I’m insanely proud of all of you guys and thank you for helping bring my vision to life !! #SLADEtheSeries 🦇
