Quarter zip V Nike tech

Project #10 We are intelligent individuals. Clothing does not define who we are—our actions and the impact we make in the world do.
Certain clothing, like a Nike Tech, has been unfairly stereotyped and associated with negative narratives such as crime or delinquency. Because of that, an entire culture can be judged simply for what they choose to wear. This project challenges that idea. We should be able to dress professionally, like in a quarter-zip, or comfortably, like in a Nike Tech, without being judged or portrayed in a certain way.
The vintage gas station location represents the “old ways” and outdated mindsets that still exist today. By shooting in a space that feels frozen in time, the project visually contrasts those old stereotypes with a new narrative.
