#EXCLUSIVE ‼️Bob Marley's children are backing a growing call for a landmark Rastafari Rights and Justice Act. @cedellamarley and @julianrmarley , say they must support the international campaign for a standalone Act, to protect the community from ongoing human rights violations, as their father’s work and life was “rooted in Rastafari”. The @rmojamaica – which is based in Jamaica – say a comprehensive legislative framework is urgently needed to safeguard Rastafari people from injustices that persist in employment, education, healthcare and other areas of life. Speaking exclusively to The Voice, Julian Marley said: “If you want to be an international place and invite people to your country, have all nations coming to your island and everyone’s being nice to everyone, be nice to your own cultural people.” He added that hearing the new legal protections for Rastas in St Kitts and Nevis, made him feel “embarrassed” that an overarching and clearly defined legislation, has not been introduced in Jamaica. “It does make you feel like you feel embarrassed,” he said. The campaign is described as an important “mission” for Julian, who is passionate about the Rastafari rights. “We need to make some noise about what is happening,” he added.
