A short but sweet trip up to the beautiful island of Skye to see @skye_paint . Yesterday I went to @monkstadt1745 to discuss a new art project for their recently renovated Beacon cottages. I picked the colour and wallpaper scheme for the guest bathrooms of these twin cottages a few months ago and it was great to see this completed. We used Spar Cave paint by @skye_paint on the panelling with a soft pink called Pride of Summer on the walls and a feature wallpaper of the Trotternish Ridge landscape I painted as part of @skye_paint 's wall mural collection. I now need to get my thinking cap on for a bespoke art project for these cottages. Very exciting! I also visited the owners of @ullinishhouse (which has the most stunning seaside views) for a colour consultation for one of the cottages being renovated and we picked a gorgeous scheme of colours to create a restful interior scheme with linen and lichen earthy tones. Lots of driving about the island which is a joy in weather like this, and a swim at Staffin beach in the afternoon was gorgeous. Everyone should have a green ceiling! I have several! I might count them tomorrow! The Pink Bedroom now is complete with green doors and woodwork- and I am very happy! Thats all I have to say about it! White door and ceiling gone and I am happy!! I don’t care if you think neutrals are boring… I love them 🤎 This room started as plain white (budget build reality 😅) And it’s taken years to slowly get here We added warmth, decided to colour drench… and honestly it’s completely changed the feel Still calm Still neutral Just so much better Not finished (need a mirror 😂) But this is what real timelines look like Be honest… white or warm? 👀

Sometimes I just need to paint something!! I find it very therapeutic! Today I decided to paint a wee table that in 2020 was my first ever upcycling project! But today it was getting more colourful treatment. I decided I needed a pop of red in my Green Smoke Hall. As you do! At my @mingleandhome event we all got a tester pot from @skye_paint . This colour is Red Cuillin!!! Isn't it fabulous. And I didn't even use the whole tester pot! How lovely is it! Swipe to see it when I got it from Marketplace! I am so taken with it- I am off for a gin to celebrate . First time out in over a week! The lurgy has lifted! Woo hoo! What could you paint with one tester pot??

Here it is… our newly painted home office - from stark white walls to soft, warm and inviting colour drench (ok not the skirting boards). I love how cosy this space feels now with the colour we chose… and it perfectly picks out a shade of the rug. I also finally added my first ever rechargeable lights on the walls… soft lighting is a must for me in an office and lights in different places to cover all options for lighting throughout the year. All I have to do is wave my hand and the lights come on or dim… magic! Just like the wall colour. 🎨 @skye_paint The Pride of Summer
