🤖Mariam Tataradze is a composer working in contemporary experimental music. While her earlier compositions focused on acoustic and instrumental music, this concert features her first electronic work, reflecting a new direction in her artistic practice.
🎙️Anna Korkashvili (Sky Collar) is an experimental electronic composer, working primarily with vocals, text and live granular processing. Her practice stems from her love for songwriting which slowly found its way to cross paths with live electronic music. In this performance she will perform a text-based granular piece written for SuperCollider, as well as one fixed media composition “cellophane dust”.
📀Giorgi Mumladze introduces a new project called “Found Fragments”, which is built with environmental sounds, specifically field recordings. Additionally, Giorgi will combine genres such as experimental and ambient.
🎛️ Danish composer Frederik Nielsen is an exchange student in the conservatoire, works within a broad perspective of genres. Crossing noise, classical, ambient, rock and field recordings, the result is often a sound that feels both intimate and volatile.
In Nielsen’s music, you’ll often hear layers of distorted noise meeting voices and sounds captured from different situations and places. The sound blurs more than it defines, but it draws you in.
🔈Nini Bantsadze is a fourth-year student at the Tbilisi State Conservatory, studying at the Faculty of Music Technology. She creates both electroacoustic pieces and performs piano improvisations herself, transforming them into compositions. She first learned music programming 2 years ago in Max-msp, and CsoundQt just a few months ago. This is her first project in CsoundQt. The piece is built from 6 different instruments that evolve and change over time, with polyrhythmic percussion, dissonant horns, frequency and ring modulation glissandos, etc. Added to it is a low cut filter and reverb.
