It’s hard to even form words. Bella was truly a majestic, stinky, fluffy diva.
I had the pleasure of sharing a home with her for 14 years. Around the same time Ryan and I met is when she came into my life. She’s been a constant presence in our relationship from the start.
She would whine and punch windows with her hand and chase rabbits and completely stand on her front legs to poop. She lived for cheese time (Kraft singles). Her personality was aloof like most chows, not wanting to be cuddled with or picked up. But she would position herself in between us and the nearest door to make sure we were safe. She hated the rain, and some men (girl I get it). And no matter what toy we bought for her she would be more interested in the cardboard roll at the end of toilet paper, or an avocado pit to roll around. She occasionally liked to wear vests and sported a bow or two. She was a bizarre dog. Entirely a one of a kind diva.
We had to say goodbye after a decade and a half, but it still feels too soon. We will never find another like her. She meant the world to us.
Hug your dogs, time moves fast.
