Microneedling was never my first choice.
When I first started I was way more drawn to injectables,
and as much as I still think they have their place, I just kept coming back to this.
Because it gives so much without pushing the skin too far. No aggressive trauma and no overdoing it. Just working with the skin and improving how it functions over time.
And honestly it’s not even just about the skin. It’s how my clients feel after.
They don’t want to look like someone else. They just want to feel confident again and comfortable in their own skin.
You’ll see a difference after one treatment but it’s how it builds over time that makes it so powerful. That’s what keeps people coming back, including myself.
For me it’s not a trend, it’s a super-treatment that gives and gives and gives.

Building something slowly on purpose, more on this soon…
A lot of questions coming in about polynucleotides lately so it feels like a good time to talk about what they actually do.
They’re not filler and they’re not designed to add volume or change anything about the structure of your face.
What they do is work at a cellular level, signalling the cells responsible for repair so that over time your skin holds hydration better, recovers more easily, and starts to behave the way it used to.
Skin rebuilding its own quality rather than having something added on top of it.
If any of this sounds familiar - texture that’s shifted, a radiance that’s gone quiet, tiredness that sleep doesn’t fix, this is probably worth a read through.
💉
You've been doing what you always did and your skin isn't responding the way it used to. It's asking for something different.
In your late 30s, collagen slows. The barrier becomes less resilient. None of it is dramatic but it's the point where what you do starts to compound.
A consultation is about having someone look at your skin properly and tell you honestly where it is.

My skin barrier has broken down 5 months after having my daughter. Postpartum hormones, sleep deprivation, the usual chaos of a newborn and suddenly my skin’s doing things I haven’t seen in years… which isn’t surprising!
I’m not pushing through it or reaching for actives or booking myself in for a treatment. I’m just slowing it down and doing what I’d tell any client to do.
3 weeks. A gentle routine. A lot of patience.
@isclinical_uk to cleanse without stripping.
@larocheposay micellar water used carefully, keeping it away from the affected areas.
@clinisoothe to help keep the skin calm and manage bacteria.
*A prescription treatment from my GP for the inflammation, because sometimes skincare alone isn’t enough. @ukiskinceuticals Epidermal Repair on the areas that needed it most.
@ukiskinceuticals SPF every single day without exception.
And @dermaluxled consistently throughout, the one thing that genuinely is accelerating the recovery.
Only when my skin is fully settled will I reintroduce anything more active.
This is where I always start = barrier first. 🤍🤍

Collagen stimulation is only part of the story. The real power is how your skin responds after treatment.
Exosomes are tiny cellular messengers that help guide how the skin repairs and rebuilds following microneedling. Instead of adding volume or changing your features, they support the regenerative phase - improving elasticity, texture and overall skin strength.
Regenerative microneedling appointments are limited each month. Enquire privately to begin your SKN Rx skin plan.
Collagen regeneration depends on how microneedling is delivered, not just that it's done.
At SKN Rx, treatments are performed using precision-controlled, gold-standard technology as part of our core protocol ensuring consistent stimulation and predictable healing.
Microneedling is one of the few treatments I trust for long-term skin quality.
Not because it’s trendy but because it works with the skin, not against it.
When it’s done with the right depth, spacing and recovery, it signals true repair: collagen, resilience, stronger skin.
This is how I practise microneedling at SKN Rx.

After a postpartum pause, I’m returning to the foundations.
When skin feels unsettled, doing less is often the most effective approach.
Supporting the skin barrier first allows the skin to stabilise, repair and respond better to treatments.
My personal current favourites for protecting the barrier are:
• @isclinical Cleansing Complex
• @alastinskincare HA Immerse Serum
• @skinceuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2
• @alastinskincare Restorative Skin Complex
• @skinceuticals Advanced Brightening UV Defense SPF 50
Pigmentation isn’t one condition. It’s several.
Melasma, sun damage, post-inflammatory marks. Each has a different trigger, a different depth, a different response to treatment. Treating them the same way is why so many people are disappointed by the results.
At SKN Rx we start with what’s causing it, not just what it looks like. Precision microneedling, paired with the right actives works to regulate pigment production over time. Not a quick fix but a considered approach that builds.

For all my soon-to-be mamas 🤍
In pregnancy my routine has become really simple, it’s not about doing anything transformative. Instead it’s all about protecting and hydrating my skin barrier. Keeping things pared-back so that my skin feels softer, more supple and most importantly, calm!
I currently cleanse with iS Clinical Cleansing Complex, follow with La Roche-Posay Micellar Water Ultra, and use La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser for eye makeup. For daily support I use Alastin Restorative Skin Complex and SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 to keep my skin strong and resilient, while Cicaplast Lips is my everyday essential for dryness.
And of course, I also use a daily mineral SPF 50
This kind of routine has been exactly what my skin needs right now 🙏🏼 gentle, protective, and nourishing.
(My skin type is normal but prone to sensitivity especially during pregnancy)

Pregnancy changes how your skin behaves.
Hormones can influence sensitivity, oil balance, and pigmentation which is why care should focus on barrier support, hydration, and UV protection.
