🚨 Fuels Reduction Information and Closures 🚨
Today will begin phase 1 of fuels reduction efforts across Big Mountain. Closures for this phase include the Danny On Memorial Trail. The Toni-Matt ski run is also closed to ALL foot traffic.
DO NOT TRY TO ACCESS ANY OF THESE AREAS. Trees are being felled and heavy machinery will be operating. These activities present significant danger to those who enter closed terrain.
The Danny On Memorial Trail has been re-routed to accommodate this closure. Starting from the lift plaza, look for and follow the signage to the start of the re-route.
Whitefish Mountain Resort and the U.S. Forest Service are undertaking a fuels reduction project across more than 200 acres of Big Mountain terrain. This work will take place in phases and involves felling trees and clearing vegetation to reduce wildfire risk and protect resort infrastructure.
