Catane is a Romanian-Italian feature film we had the pleasure to work on.
Shot in Romania, this project involved us in both prosthetic makeup and straight makeup, carefully designing and developing the characters of every single role.
It has been an intense and incredible experience, and a true privilege to work across both departments.
“Catane” is a dark comedy inspired by real events, set in a remote Romanian village where an unusually high number of residents claim disabilities. When a team of inspectors arrives to investigate, they encounter what seems like a fairytale community — but beneath the surface lies a much more complex and unexpected reality.
The film has been nominated for six Gopo Awards, including Best Makeup.
A story that mixes humor, humanity and social commentary in a unique and poetic way.

- Part of our work on the Romanian film Catane, where people tried to deceive health inspectors.
In the first photo, the actress created a fake skin condition by melting wax and applying it to her skin, forming realistic spots to trick inspections.
In the second photo, a young man with a skin rash look.
