404Lorida Boi is a collection of photos and videos that abstractly shows the story of my life moving back and forth between Florida and Georgia. This project has lived in my mind for years, and finding the right way to express my upbringing has never been simple. Every image is rooted in memory, identity, and the culture that shaped me. This isn’t cosplay — this is my culture.
I think back to those early mornings, waking up before the sun just to catch the bus to a school outside my district. At the time, it felt normal, but now I appreciate every sacrifice that was made to get me there. There are people who are no longer here that I carry with me in everything I create.
Growing up at my granny’s house, the women around me wore big bamboo earrings, spaghetti-strap baby tees, and carried themselves with confidence. There weren’t many men around, but the few I saw left an everlasting impression on me.
These moments became my foundation. They shaped the way I see the world, the way I move, and the way I create.
I’ve traveled a lot, lived a little, and had a whole lot of fun bringing this project to life. I hope when you look at these photos, you feel the love, the pain, the style, and the spirit behind them.
