🧠 We put a lot of thought into the locking or clamping systems for the MakerLock Pro.

The adaptor is made from 7075 aluminum so it is tougher than standard 6061 aluminum.
.
The adaptor has a raised ring that interfaces with the wall of the cap so all the sideways clamping force is put through just the ring. This is a machined surface so we know it will be perfectly flat against the wall.
.
We use a precision machines steel sleeve to press against the adaptor. Instead of using just the bottom face of a bolt which we can't guarantee is flat. This sleeve makes more consistent and greater contact with the adaptor. Which results in greater holding force.
