3D maps isn't jsut cool tech, it's improving safety!
Better understanding of the landscape, recognize avalanche terrain and make better and safer decissions!

Check the avalanche problem first, what aspects are “in play”? Then make the map do the work. 👇
Today’s workflow:
Read the bulletin → pin the aspects
Open Skida → filter the map to aspects without the problem
Pick a route that matches you and your friends → smooth margins, big smiles
Drop in… and let the Arctic light do the rest ✨⛷️
Plan with intent. Ski with flow.

Do you know the most liberating feeling in the world?
👇🏻
Standing on top, nothing but mountains around you, and a perfect powder run waiting below.
It’s the kind of feeling you can’t explain, only experience.⛷️❄️
#norway #tromsø #skiing #mountain #freedom
This is what pure happiness looks like. ⛷️❄️
It’s hard to explain this kind of freedom to someone who’s never skied.
My last powder day of the season couldn’t have been better — blue skies, no wind, fresh untouched snow, just me and my crew laying down the first four lines on a pristine mountain.
Grateful for this privilege… to call this place my backyard.

4th of May — hip deep & steep ⛷️❄️ still going!

The ‚Arctic Circle’ delivered some more may spring powder ☺️❄️ With the endless daylight, we chased a weather window at 3:00am 😎 meant kicking things off the night before to reach our zone in time.
Ending up with snow and whiteout first classic norwegian weather prediction 😅 hours later we became the reward of blue skies breaking through and bitter cold, dry powder snow like the middle of winter.

Teamed up with legendary Merrick 💪 for this one, so stoked we made a proper day out together 🫶☺️

This is not normal!
This is mathematically, unmathable
For all these things to align:
The weekend
Sunshine
Level one avalanche risk in lyngen
Level one avalanche risk in high alpine environments
Extremely cold nights -18
Spring snowpack to occur in April in the Arctic
Fresh snow
Best badass friends to be free and ready to go!
Oh... but it did!
There are good ski days and then there are these ski days. The ones that are so unlikely the math seems unmathable. Where you get to ski lines youve been dreaming about for years, with low avalanche risk even in the high alpine, limited sun effects and clear blue skies for days. Bonus, It all happens on a weekend so your crew is free from work and have all has the skills to pick any adventure on the map.
Friday held a day of exploring, scouting lines and paying attention to the mountains. First observation, the snow is very solid, like crampons on the whole ski tour solid. When we reached 1000m on a ridge climb at 9/10am we found the east faces to hold wet and rotten snow. As we explored every aspect we watched for wet slides and when ice was falling from peaks. The snow was much more consolidated than expected so we hung around a lot longer than planned to capture the dreamy silky smooth slush on the way down.
This gave all the data we needed combine that with the @skida.app and we were ready to tick off a bucket list item.
FUGLDALSTINDEN
20km skiing 2000 height meters, starting at the ocean, climbing a steep couloir, crossing a glacier and skiing a sustained 40-45 degree 1200m long flank. No escaping exposure for the 10 hours that we would be out, except on the summit break.
When everything alines there is a beautiful peace that can be found in the mountains. You have time to pause on your mission and enjoy the company and the surroundings. Its an experience that is often too rare and that I will cherish, hoping for a next time.
So grateful to @axelbabes and @eespenito for this adventure

Not every day in the mountains starts with a line. ❄️ 👇👇
Sometimes it starts with a shovel — digging, checking, understanding what’s beneath the surface.
This winter in Austria has been a tough one.
A complex snowpack, and too many accidents.
I lost a friend 🖤 in an avalanche.
Since then, every decision feels a little more real.
Tools like @skida.app help — real observations from the field, shared by the community. 🤝
Take your time.
Respect the mountain.

🚨 POWDERALERT 15 🚨
Spring is knocking… but winter’s not fully done yet. 👀
A warm setup brings fresh snow to the southern Alps – but only high up. Think above 2500 m for real powder, below that it’s mostly spring conditions.
From Sunday evening to Tuesday afternoon, around 30–60 cm, locally more, could fall around Monte Rosa and southern Piedmont. Short window, tricky setup.
👉 Monday is a pass.
👉 Tuesday = go high, go early, go north-facing.
⚠️ Fresh snow + warm temps = tricky conditions.
Check the avalanche bulletin, plan carefully and adapt your route choices.

🚨 POWDERALARM 15 🚨

🚨 POWDERALERT 14 🚨
Lord Ullr strikes again. Part two is here. ❄️
Just when the first dump gets tracked… the next one rolls in. A second north stau brings cold, proper powder across the northern Alps and this time even the east finally gets a real base.
From Monday morning to Wednesday afternoon expect 30–90 cm, with up to a meter possible in the core zones between the Arlberg and the Bernese Alps.
Cold temps, low snowline and surprisingly manageable wind in the stau make this one of the best setups of the season.
⚠️ If you’re heading into the backcountry, check the avalanche report and stay sharp.
Who’s still chasing winter? 👀

🚨 PowderAlarm 14 🚨
Lord Ullr schlägt nochmal zu. Teil zwei ist da. ❄️
