Staying safe on Saskatchewan’s waterways starts with simple choices. ⁣ ⁣ Earlier this week at the Legislative Grounds, the province is marking Safe Boating Awareness Week (May 16–22) with a live water rescue demonstration. ⁣ ⁣ The Amphibious Response Safety Unit is showcasing real‑world rescue equipment and training used on lakes and rivers across Saskatchewan. ⁣ ⁣ As we head into summer, it’s a timely reminder to wear a lifejacket, boat sober and be prepared every time you’re on the water. ⁣ ⁣ Learn more about safe boating and ARSU’s lifesaving work at arsu.ca.

On May 12, 2026, Terry Jenson, Minister of Social Services, joined Chip and Dale Homes Inc. to celebrate the grand opening of a group home in Regina, expanding access to safe and inclusive supports in Saskatchewan. ⁣ ⁣ This four-space home will support adults with intellectual disabilities to live more independently while staying connected to their community. ⁣

Lucky Lake families are celebrating big news — a new playground is on the way! 🎉 ⁣ ⁣ The community is receiving a $50,000 School Playground Equipment Grant to help replace the aging play structure at Lucky Lake School. ⁣ ⁣ With strong local fundraising and provincial support, this project will create safe, modern and locally available spaces for all kids to learn, connect, and play. ⁣ ⁣ The grant is part of Saskatchewan’s annual investment to help communities replace or renew play spaces across the province. Since the program began, 94 school playgrounds have received funding. ⁣ ⁣ Applications for the 2026–27 intake will open September 2026.
