Ella is an emerging filmmaker based in Scarborough. Growing up in the East End, Ella was always drawn to social justice work, as she noticed the contrasting socioeconomic differences between communities. Coming from the filmmaking space, Ella worked on sets but sought more opportunities to grow her work locally.
@changemade.studio allowed Ella to understand different production workflows from pre- to post-production. Elle shares, "Through each step of the production process, I learned so much about myself, what I need in those moments, and what to expect from the people I work with."
Ella’s work is already championing change by capturing intricate connections between people and their environments, most notably with ‘unhome’, a documentary about the gentrification in Scarborough.
