This is the cover of Change of Heart. It’s a new book that I wrote and drew with the help of Emily, Emilia and Mariam over at Roaring Brook Press. It’s not out until the fall, but today is a good day to show this to you, no? This is a sweet story about open heartedness. I’m looking forward to telling you more about it soon, until then I hope u feel loved in some way ❤️🦋❤️

Here are some textures I made for the upcoming book The Coziest Place on the Moon by @mariapopova . It publishes in November, so, kinda soon! I worked with both pan pastel and granular/metallic swirly watercolors on black paper. It was fun to experiment like that, I wrote y’all a newsletter post about it-see the ole link in bio if u like.

September means fall is nearly here, which means November is not too far, which means The Coziest Place On The Moon is also close by (pub date Nov. 4th). Today I chat with a publisher about how the color is working for the a book called Open. That book will be around next spring. I didn’t write it, but I draw a whole lot of flowers for it and I like it a lot.

We’ve just arrived back from the American Library Association’s Annual Conference, and we’re beaming from ear to ear! Between book signings with our superstar creators (@mattforsythe , @sjacobee , & @wolvertonhill ), an evening we hosted at Philly’s most eccentric venue (@theyamatorium ), and—of course—sharing our wonderful books with hundreds of librarians, this weekend’s conference was brimming with excitement, enthusiasm, and good conversation around books, storytelling, literacy, and community engagement.
