at the beginning of this year i was seriously considering my place in music and who i am as an artist. i knew i had the capability to fly but couldn't find my wings - nothing was making sense, no one in the industry would look my way, and i felt lost and confused at a dead end... well, that has all changed after this tour. seeing your unbridled joy in the crowds every night, singing with me and cheering me on, and somehow pulling it off DIY without any backing from a label or agency has instilled a fearlessness in me that i will carry forever.
i made a decision when i was at that crossroads to lead with my artistry, let go and surrender to something higher... to then be handpicked by one of my biggest inspirations to open for her on this tour has changed what i think it means to be an artist - relinquishing my life and becoming my own greatest work of art, no matter how painful it is to get there. music is my true love and i feel reinspired to fall all over again. and i'm so relieved that i kept going and decided to give myself a chance... it is too easy to become cynical in this industry and succumb to doubt and fear. now i truly believe that good things can and do happen despite the horror stories, darkness and abuse.
these 3 songs are a time capsule of this moment, witnessing with my own eyes that a pipe dream can come true no matter how impossible or far away it may seem. call it rocket science - it can be hard to understand and endure at times, but where i was hopeless before i now feel powerful and resilient.
