My Tribute to You, Mom…
On May 11, 2005 …. It’s been 20 years since you left this world, but not a single day has passed without me thinking of you. On this Mother’s Day, my heart feels especially tender.
You were everything I hope to be — kind, gentle, graceful, and strong. A quiet elegance surrounded you. Born into comfort, you lost it all during the horrors of communism. Yet, through starvation, struggle, and loss, you never once complained. You carried yourself with dignity, always thinking of others before yourself. You were a survivor — but more than that, you were a giver. A nurturer. The heart of our family.
You lived with health and intention — dancing with Dad three times a week, eating well, staying vibrant. It felt like you would live forever. But colon cancer took you from us too soon.
I miss you so deeply, Mom.
I miss your wisdom, your love, your gentle presence.
I miss calling you. Laughing with you. Sitting beside you in silence.
You poured your love into your grandchildren as if they were your own — and now, they have children. Your great-grandchildren. I know you would be so proud. I wish with everything in me that you were here to see them. I wish we could be grandmothers together, sharing this joy — side by side.
You made me who I am. And I will carry your strength and love in everything I do. I will love and miss you until my very last breath.
Thank you, Mom — for everything.
Happy Mother’s Day in heaven. 🌷💔
Forever your daughter,
Sharon
Still glowing from the sparkle of Saturday night! My heart is overflowing with gratitude for the incredible friends, family, and community who showed up, showed out, and shined bright at the Dress for Success Disco Ball Gala. Your presence, generosity, and belief in our mission lit up the room and made magic happen — for one unforgettable night and for countless women striving to change the trajectory of their lives.
To our honorees Mary Jung, Brenda Wright and Chip Zecher, our inspiring mayor Daniel Lurie, ED Erin Badillo, sponsors, my committee, and every guest who brought joy, purpose, and serious disco energy — THANK YOU.
As Gala Chair for 7 years, this cause is deeply personal to me. My heart soared when the Board President, Monica Bannan, remarked to me , “ You took this from seed money to IPO!” Wow…. My heart…🥰
Helping women find their footing, build confidence, and claim their futures is work we all can be proud of. And because of your love and support, we took a giant leap forward that night — in heels, sequins, and with hearts full.
Let’s keep dancing for a cause that matters.
With love, sparkle, and gratitud
Thank you for the birthday wishes! You are all incredibly thoughtful and sweet, truly a blessing! David knows I love NAPA and mushroom pizzas. So he took me out yesterday for a NAPA weekend and this is what he got us for lunch! 😆
Feeling incredibly honored to be named one of the Top 25 Best Dressed at the SF Ballet Opening Gala! Even more special was sharing this moment with my stunning and stylish girlfriends who were also recognized—congratulations to all! ✨ Beyond the gowns and glamour, this night was about celebrating & supporting artistry, elegance, and the magic of ballet. Grateful for an unforgettable evening!
