“There’s lots of different ways that you can jump in to help make the change that you want to see.” It sounds simple, but what @judgelaurel said is exactly what so many people get stuck on. We think it has to be big or all-consuming to matter, when in reality it usually starts much smaller.
@judgelaurel ’s early connection to the legal field began in a law office her father built after encountering barriers in his own path through law school and into practice. Rather than accept the lack of opportunity available to him, he created a space that allowed other black attorneys to work and build their careers. That environment became a formative part of her early exposure to the law, and taught her how the law impacts lives.
