Chunky Yarn and 3D-printed structure

Tamashi is a soft, inhabitable sculpture.
A handwoven, cocoon-like structure shaped from yarn and 3D-printed structure.
It invites visitors to enter, rest, and listen to the space, to themselves, and to something softer that often escapes language.
This piece reimagines the idea of shelter, not as something to defend against the world, but as a frequency—a shape of care, formed by time and touch.
Woven from the memory of a future home, Tamashi holds traces of tenderness, fragmentation, and reconstruction.
It is a tactile recording of transitions: between states, stories, and selves.
You are not asked to look at it, but to feel with it.
To stay for a moment. To be held.

本作以「睡眠」這一普遍的人類體驗為切入點，
重新審視我們習以為常的日常行為背後的本質與意義。
探討我們如何以慣性經驗和體驗，累積並塑成我們對世界的理解與框架。
How is sleeping an unaware pause on our conscious control over our body?
By representing sleeping as a common human experience, this piece reevaluates the essence behind everyday behaviours. It explores the conceptual framework that shapes our perception of the world based on observation and reinterpretation. The work seeks to address how accumulation and records construct our understanding of the world.

「過渡之地」以裝置、影像、聲音等多元媒介，回應在他鄉生活中交織的記憶、歸屬、日常與遷徙經驗。展覽圍繞「在場」與「缺席」、「個人」與「集體」之間的張力，呈現一種文化與情感上的中間狀態。所謂「過渡之地」，是一個懸浮的空間，不完全屬於過去，也不完全屬於當下。四位藝術家透過觀察、重構與感知，呈現那些未被記錄但深植內心的體驗：或是親密記憶的殘影，或是日常動作中的轉化，或是遷徙之路上的靜默重量。
In “Soul Crossings in the Liminal Space”, four artists raised in Hong Kong and now living in Melbourne come together to explore the layered experiences of belonging, the everyday, displacement, and memory. Through diverse installation practices, they navigate the tensions between absence and presence, personal and cultural narratives, and the overarching state of in-betweenness.

本展覽展示四位藝術家的作品——廖倩彤 @sixof.cups 江曉霖 @judy.kong 、蘇嘉茵 @blueclvb 及楊晨威 @wise_ceramics ，由梁靜 @jing.archive 策展。
四位藝術家以裝置、影像、聲音等多元媒介，回應在他鄉生活中交織的記憶、歸屬、日常與遷徙經驗。展覽圍繞「在場」與「缺席」、「個人」與「集體」之間的張力，呈現一種文化與情感上的中間狀態。所謂「過渡之地」，是一個懸浮的空間，不完全屬於過去，也不完全屬於當下。四位藝術家透過觀察、重構與感知，呈現那些未被記錄但深植內心的體驗：或是親密記憶的殘影，或是日常動作中的轉化，或是遷徙之路上的靜默重量。

We are very excited to share our upcoming exhibition 「過渡之地 Soul Crossings in the Liminal Space」, opening this June at 1a space in Hong Kong! @1a_space

How am I constructed?
Reflecting on my upbringing, I wondered how to
produce a self-portrait in sculpture or installation
through materiality. Liquids’ mobility, adaptability, and
capability of being a solvent resemble the properties
of my self-construction. The process consistently
embodies adding as a way of construction, including
dyeing, forging or condensing.
Bubble gum is a playful material that shares liquids’ softness and cohesiveness. It can capture my biting as
an imprint and body traces and even temporarily store
a breath. The vibrant artificial colouring and stickiness
it holds are similar to the solvent quality of the liquid. When I placed the human-touched bubble gum in the gumball machine, didn’t it become its own character and being?
我是如何構成的?
反思我的個⼈成長經歷，我開始思考如何在雕塑或裝置
作品中塑造⼀幅「⾃畫像」。我發現液體的流動性、適
應性和溶液性質與⾃我建構的特性⼗分相似。⽽染⾊、
鍛造或凝結這些過程都是以加法去建構⾃我。
泡泡糖是⼀種有趣的材料，它既有液體的柔軟性和內聚
性。它也可以捕捉我咬過的印記和⾝體痕跡，甚⾄可以
暫存⼀⼝氣。它鮮艷⼈⼯⾊素和沾黏性也和液體溶液的
特性相似。當我把存有⼈體痕跡的泡泡糖雕塑放⾄泡泡
糖機器裡，它不就變成了⾃成⼀格的存在嗎?

無垠 Unpacking
「無垠」與 ‘Unpacking’ 中英兩個詞彙之間蘊含著微妙的距離。「無垠」二字象徵著遼遠而沒有邊際; 同樣地，Unpacking表達著廣闊無界限的自我探問—— 這是我們四位藝術從共感的對話下詮釋出來。
我們成長於香港，現居澳洲墨爾本。過去兩年，我們共同經歷著一個新的城市旅程。特濃咖啡、工作室、不知名的雞尾酒、特價Pizza、塔羅牌、homeade打邊爐，漸漸堆砌著新的生活形態。而這場展覽就從一份在麥當勞餐巾上手寫下的合約開始。
我們盛載著香港的生活模式及記憶，帶到新的城市，在兩地流動。我們意圖不斷紀錄
新的狀態、經歷及想法，以多媒體、互動性裝置、現成物、雕塑及陶瓷，探索個人在流動性下所引發的自我轉化，以及對時代變遷的回應。
Unpacking and 無垠 (Mo Ngan) hold subtle distance in the translation between English and Chinese. 無垠 (Mo Ngan) symbolises the boundless vastness. Stemming from the dialogue between us four artists, we interpret Unpacking as the inner search for identity and positionality that also shares the boundless nature.
We grew up in Hong Kong and now live in Melbourne. In the past two years, we’ve been experiencing a journey in a new city. Long black with extra shots, studio life, unknown cocktails, discounted pizza after six, tarot card reading, homemade hot pot, these pieces pile up and become our new life. This exhibition begins with a contract handwritten on a McDonald’s table napkin.
We carry the lifestyles and memories from Hong Kong to a new city. Flowing between two grounds, we intend to grasp our new conditions, experiences, and thoughts. Using multimedia, interactive installations, found objects, sculpture and ceramics, we explore individual transformation through mobility and response to these changing times.
