Lil Gem 1
I wanted to try recording different angles and parts of the beat making process. Most of the beat was composed of synths from the Minilogue XD; a few patches were self-made. The drums were programmed in the TR-8 and you can see that in my last reel.
As far as how this video went, I think it went well. I tried to focus more on the feeling and having fun (which led me to playing with keys not in scale), rather than obsessing over how everything looked and how I looked (I did notice I’m making a bit of a pouty face lol).
The beat turned out okay, I think it’s a bit dated and darker than what I like but I had fun.
So right now I’m experimenting with how I’m recording these types of videos. Here’s what I’ve learned so far:
1. Move the flowers 😭
2. Zoom in a bit more, there’s a lot of headroom and space below the speakers that can be cut out.
3. Record the audio into Ableton and Export it for a cleaner and listenable sound.
Here’s what I liked about the video:
1. I moved the speakers to be facing the camera. This allows my phone to pick up the audio better.
2. I’m recording on the front-facing side which gives me a better idea of how I look and if the video is still being taken.
I shall return.
I’ve been thinking recently..
God showed me that I can never be ready in the way that I want to be, but I can be prepared in the way He intends for me to be.
I can’t keep seeking perfection when I was never perfect to begin with. Jesus showed us the path to righteousness so why would I have it any other way?
I’m beginning this new chapter of my life the right way—God’s way.
Also this is another clip from the story I posted a couple weeks ago. I’m getting “ready” to upload my EP, just need to add a few finishing touches. Also need to make the cover 😭✌️
