. While I have been getting a lot of great feedback from the project I dropped, one of the questions I get is “What is that little chant you do at the end of the song Dance?”. Rather than avoid the question or make light of it like I normally do I’ve decided to be honest. Not a lot of ppl know but on August 1, 2025 while I was on tour my father passed away from cancer. Though he was present all my life, my pops and I didn’t have the best relationship. One thing we always connected on was music. He was a DJ in his younger years and he was also known for dancing his ass off at parties. He would be the first on the dance floor and the last to leave. Because I credit him with my love for music I dropped my EP “In The Meantime” on his birthday January 10 and the song “Dance” is my little tribute to him. When I heard the chant Kevin jz Prodigy did for Blu Ivy on Beyoncé’s tour I was inspired to do something similar at the end of my track to give my pops a little shout out. So the song “Dance” and this project in general has sentimental value. Now I know this is news to even some ppl that are close to me because I NEVER talk and i definitely don’t post about anything like this BUT the appreciation and love I have for everyone who has taken the time to listen to my music and even inquire about the inspiration behind my lyrics made me feel like you all deserved this moment of vulnerability and truth.
