𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗦 𝗦𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗿 𝗞𝗿𝗮𝗶(𝘆)𝘁𝗲𝗺 @siwarkraytem is a multilingual artist and researcher based between Beirut and Amsterdam, focusing on language during times of transformation. 𝗮𝗯𝘀(𝗱𝗶𝘀)𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿 documents war, migration and belonging through Arabic diary entries and recorded mementos, tracing a shifting sense of home, identity and time in the Netherlands. ----------------- 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘂𝗶 @youneschergui is an architect and designer. His work explores how architecture can serve as a tool for social transformation in divided territories. 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 examines the closed Moroccan–Algerian border, drawing on informal trade networks in Oujda to propose an incremental urban strategy that transforms abandoned railways into spaces for social exchange, resilience and everyday survival, challenging borders as fixed lines. Come and see their work in MaMA Rotterdam. Open Wednesday–Sunday, 14:00–19:00, with extended hours on every first Friday of the month. 'Between Land and Sky, Between Borders, We Meet' runs until February 1st; link in bio for more info.💚 📸 Ajiri Ogbovoh @elisajiri

Looking back at Artist in Residency, @siwarkraytem Siwar Kraytem's Open Studio at KIOSK, the artist shared with our community her ongoing research around the calendar as a daily and intimate object. Through a multilingual hybrid calendar — asriyye / ruznama / takweem — Siwar reflects on the shared rhythms of Tangier and Beirut, two port cities intertwined through language, memory, and history and the passage of time. Her project invites us to see how time, routine, and translation shape our daily lives, turning the calendar into both an archive and a companion. Special thanks to La Cinémathèque de Tanger for the accessibility to their Riso machine and printing support with Nawar, and to Hamza Essabbani @trafik__design for his help with the screen printing process. This residency is supported by the @stimuleringsfonds .
