@yarracityarts have extended their trial providing affordable and sustainable spaces to create, rehearse, and perform. The Create Rate initiative gives concession fees for bookings at select Yarra City venues up until 30 June. This support is specifically allocated for small groups or individuals who would benefit from concession rates. If you are an artist, a creative practitioner or artistic group living or working in Yarra, you are eligible for the Create Rate. Check out the link in @yarracityarts bio for more information. #creativespacesmelbourne #melbournemusicians @cityofyarra

Siteworks is having a huge clear out of all of our furniture, homewares, books, toys and more! Anything that we aren't able to store while are waiting for construction of our brand new, built-for-purpose community space needs to find a new home. Come on down and pick up a piece or two of Siteworks history to keep as your own. Everything is being sold for whatever you feel it is worth to you. Whether that is a gold coin donation or more that is up to you, no offer refused. All proceeds will be going towards an art commission in the new building for everyone in the community to enjoy. ⏰ 10am to 4pm 📅 Sunday, 29 January 2023 📍 Workroom 2, Siteworks, 33 Saxon St There are no holds and everything must go. Whatever you purchase must be taken with you on the day, we cannot store it for you. One day only!

Alexander teacher Karen Anderson and Fitzmaurice Voicework® teacher Fabio Motta will be offering a 3-day restorative retreat to reconnect to body, breath and voice while reinvigorating your craft for performance. 10am - 5pm Sun 30th, Mon 31st Oct & Tues 1st Nov Hosted by The Liminal Space at Siteworks @_theliminalspace The Alexander Technique and Fitzmaurice Voicework® are powerful resources in strengthening awareness and developing deep listening to how our body & mind work together. They enable us to gain insight into how we deplete ourselves and offer the tools to let go of the unnecessaries, making space for nourishment and healing in an embodied stop. These practices develop a state of stillness where we can deepen the connection to ourselves to find more autonomy, spontaneity and creativity. Karen is an Alexander Technique teacher in Melbourne. In teaching she draws on years of movement experience in martial arts, yoga, dance and performance experience as an award winning circus artist. Karen runs a private practice and teaches at 16th St Actors Studio and Howard Fine Acting Studio Aus. Fabio Motta @clowningworkshop is an award-winning performer and teaching artist who has performed and devised theatre in Australia, Italy, and the United States. He is a certified Associate teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework® and the regional coordinator for Australia and New Zealand. For booking info check the bio of @atkarenanderson

Siteworks would like to Welcome it’s newest community member. This little recently fledged Magpie is finding its way around the grounds. It’s very lucky that is has two fully grown magpies to look after it while it learns to fly. Please while visiting Siteworks take extra care to look out for protective swooping and please do not approach the young one as this will provoke the older Maggie’s to protect the little one. Take care everyone ..

And this one is for everyone! 8-week course on the principles and practical application of the Alexander Technique. Guided embodied explorations of traditional Alexander procedures and common daily postures & movements. Also covering elements of anatomy and body mapping to deepen understanding of body function, building awareness of individual habits in activity, and methods to let go of unnecessary tension. Suitable for any body type or fitness level. Practicing the Technique can improve the ability to work with your body’s design and limitations in each moment. Common outcomes are more balance, ease and freedom of movement. Thursday 7 - 9pm 6th Oct - 24th Nov @siteworks_
