A marathon, long-form concert inspired by the golden era of all-day mehfils, #KMMC2026 begins at 2:30 PM with an evocative recital of afternoon ragas on the sitar by Sri Deepsankar Bhattacharjee (
@sitardeep ), accompanied by the luminous tabla of Sri Abhirup Roy (
@tablamelody ).
At 4:00 PM, Vidushi Shashwati Mandal — a leading exponent of khayal and tappa of the Gwalior gharana — takes the stage, joined by Dr. Mausam (
@mishu.mausam ) on harmonium and Pt. Sanjoy Adhikary on tabla.
The evening deepens with a rare Kolkata appearance by gayaki-ang sarod maestro Pt. Biswajit Roy Chowdhury, accompanied by Pt. Arup Chattopadhyay (
@chattopadhyayarup ) on tabla.
The grand finale features Agra gharana khayal maestro Ustad Waseem Ahmed Khan (
@waseemahmed753 ), with Ustad Sarwar Hussain (
@sarwar_sarangi ) on sarangi, Sh. Gourab Chatterjee on harmonium, and Pt. Sanjoy Adhikary (
