The Winter Balearic Games land at local watering hole and vinyl DJ dive @showtimebar on Thursday 2/5 for an evening of disco, italo, electro, house, funk, new wave, and whatever else feels right. Featuring Bertie @bertiep , a DC-based Episcopal priest and cosmic selector delivering a heady mixture of italo, house and disco. Formerly a member of renowned “daytime disco” act Poolside, he has since released music on Death on Wax with Episco-Disco fellow traveler J.A.Z, which has reached dancefloors around the world via the superstar DJ Harvey. Most recently, he co-produced the sultry balearic bomb “Nema Veze” with cosmic/leftfield stalwart Masha Mar, on the same label. Also joining is DC’s Laura Lopez @1aura1opez , a resident at several of DC’s hi-fi listening lounges who also manages the thoroughly balearic DJ program at the cozy cocktails & pizza purveyor No Kisses Bar in Park View. Expect deep and punchy cuts of disco, italo, city pop, new wave and electro. 1st Thursday resident Sean C. on support Sean and his girlfriend, Elizabeth, are also teaming up with Heather @heathercln from the Tartan Network to raise mutual aid funds for a displaced family in Gaza. Used vinyl records from various local DJs' collections will be available for purchase with 100% of funds donated to the cause. Please consider donating directly as well.

Join us Thursday, 8/21 at @thegreenzonedc to support humanitarian aid in Gaza. At 7pm, @trivia4palestine will be hosting trivia with all proceeds supporting a family in Gaza. At 9pm, @djunt.il @sistinechappell and @kennymdc will DJ an all vinyl set of eclectic dance music, and a portion of bar sales will support aid to Gaza. We will also have records for sale, with those proceeds supporting humanitarian aid as well. Entry is free! Hope to see you there!
