Sissel Aurland arbeider i skjæringspunktet mellom tegning, installasjon og performance. Hennes arbeider springer ut fra en langsom, fysisk praksis, der papiret ikke bare er underlag, men også medspiller og et sanselig rom hvor strek, fold og trykk blir spor av bevegelse, tid og tilstedeværelse.
Sissel arbeider med lange tegneøkter, der repetisjon og fysisk samspill med materialitet åpner for en nær, undersøkende tilnærming til verden. I forbindelse med at hun har et artist in residency opphold ved Kysten i regi av Troms fylkeskommune i oktober 2025 vil hun delta på Tromsø Open med et performativt arbeide på lørdagen.
Sissel Aurland har en MA Fine Art fra The Open University (UK). Hun er født og oppvokst i Harstad, bor til daglig i Lillestrøm og har atelier hos KunstSkansen på Blaker.

✨Vi er inne i sjette og siste visningsuke med Sissel Aurlands utendørsprosjekt i Henningsvær. Hele 640 har hittil skannet QR-koden på glasskassen og fått tilgang til en video av prosessen. Søndag 22.september er siste visningsdag.
✨Prosjektet inngår i Anti-Biennale: Kunst i Arktisk Natur, en kunstfestivalen utforsker hvordan naturen kan brukes som visningsarena for kunst.
