Big news, friends! I’m deeply honored to step into the part-time role of Interim Executive Director of the Seattle Indian Services Commission (SISC). Our Native community in Seattle has always been resilient, and now, we have a powerful opportunity to build more affordable housing, strengthen cultural connections, and ensure that every Native person has access to safe and stable housing. One of my first priorities? The redevelopment of the former Pearl Warren Building—a space that will soon provide critical housing and resources for Native families in Seattle’s International District. This work isn’t just about buildings; it’s about restoring our community’s right to lead and thrive in our beautiful city. In this moment of national change, our voices as Indigenous people must be heard. Housing justice is Native justice. I’m ready to fight for bold solutions, work with our partners, and create a future where all our relatives have a safe place to call home. I’d love to hear from you—what are your hopes for the future of Seattle’s Native community? Let’s dream big together. #HousingJustice #UrbanNative #IndigenousLeadership
