Had such a fun conversation with @thenewschool_cmas and @kevin.sparkowich (YUT), about my very random but very real journey from cosmetology, to the Marine Corps, to somehow ending up at one of the best design grad school programs in the world, and now building STOA. Even though I left the Marine Corps years ago, I sometimes feel so far removed from that version of myself. But being around veterans always reminds me that part of me never really left. Spaces made by veterans, for veterans, will always feel like home. Being a United States (MF) Marine will forever be one of the coolest and proudest chapters of my life. And now, getting to show up for other veterans as they transition into civilian life honestly means the world to me. Semper Fidelis #usmc #marinecorps #civilianlife #parsonsschoolofdesign #nyc

25 years ago you saw me into this world, now 25 years later Im glad I got to be by your side as you left it. My grandmother was a matriarch. She’s the reason I paint my nails red, and the reason my favorite color is green, She’s why I love expensive curtains, why I took piano lessons for years, and why I know the Bible so well. I miss being small enough to fit between you and Dad on the bed. I miss your patois, your porridge, and that beautiful china NO ONE was allowed to touch

First picture was the sweetest little boy inside of Guatemala, he had the sweetest smile and an energy that radiated off of him.
