This music animation short is almost four years old now. It was made in 2022, at a time when I was feeling a lot of anger and confusion about the world—and found that echoed in the lyrics of KNIVESRAIN’s “Be Gone”.
Looking back, AI has changed so much. This film was an organic “dance”between my hand-drawn 2D characters and what I now call “ancient AI”(VQGAN+CLIP). I still find the chaotic, eerie textures of these “outdated”tools so much more interesting than the “glossy”perfection of nowdays AI.

My idea of making “little butterflies and water guns” out of balloons was born during Pride Month in June. People may see them as other things—and that’s fine—but it’s precisely because of this starting point that I wanted to express something:
Little butterflies and water guns shouldn’t be shamed, demonized, or reduced to mere objects of consumption.
When I pop an “overlong” balloon, I also hope to pop, just a little, some of the toxic attitudes and biases tied to it.
So please feel free to view this video with humor, absurdity, or even critique.
