Full video in bio - “Artist makes a work. documents that work, sets that work on fire, documents that fire, sends ashes to an artist. artist males a work incorporating ashes. sets that work on fire. repeat. repeat. repeat. till there’s too much time and space between the burning stars and all the lights go out.”

So honored and had so much fun creating this for @kellyinstaburns project #ashes2ashes over on @objktcom . From the ashes of the work of the amazing artists before me. This is my contribution. Made from ink, ashes plants and an old print. When it was all done, it was set to flame and the ashes collected for the next artist. And yes, that’s me playing trumpet for the first time in 20 years. Hard to believe I was ever first chair.
I like The Creature from the Black Lagoon soundtrack too much not to post this to the profile for now. If it ever gets a proper sound pass, I’ll share that too.

The mission has been to add #unrealengine to the toolset. My friends at @thrownlight asked me to explore how UE might fit into a video and motion production workflow, and I’m hooked. I haven’t been this excited to play in a long time. When they asked if there was anything I could make for them to take to this year’s @campmograph , I did what I usually do, and went overboard. Everything in the scene I modeled in Blender or UE. Control rigs and animation all happened in UE. Really intuitive, and working with realtime playback is just so freeing creatively. No ram preview speed bumps. Camera tools and rigs are fun to use. I expect to see a lot more people following this path in the next 12 months.
