LONDON â25
.
.
.
Currently wishing I was strolling the streets of London, drinking some tea or minding the gap on the tube. This training cycle wasnât easy but I also learned that no two races are the same. I finished this race feeling the strongest (and tannest) Iâve ever felt post marathon. London has their cheering game down pat! + This trip was special for many reasons but just to name a few:
1. @womenmakemoves NYC x @womenmakemoveslondon
2. Traveling with my sisters @gweets@loveeleeeee
3. My 3rd marathon!
Thankful for my body that allows me to run, thankful for my friends+family who continuously believe in me, & thankful for my solesisters @instatamagram + @harkirankalsi for making my London marathon dreams come true. Officially ran three world major marathons. Iâve learned so much about myself, discipline, & community- but now I give my body a sweet break from long distance training. Agradecida, siempre.
NEW YORK CITY â24
.
.
.
Thereâs nothing that compares to running home. No city does it better than us. The crowds, the energy, the community, running by friends, family and my students. Thereâs seriously no place like home.
Iâm at a loss for words; Iâm truly humbled and grateful to have been able run my second marathon yesterday. When youâre surrounded by love anything is possible. Finished this race with a sweet 10 min PR, thank you @instatamagram@womenmakemoves .
It will always be New York or no where. Shout outs to everyone in my corner. I see you, I hear you, and I love you deeply. Thank you for always believing in me.
there is so much beauty and excitement in trying new things. I donât take these opportunities and experiences lightly.
Iâve been sitting on this feeling and thought: I was able to run state to state (by choice) when there are many, who look like me, that have walked this for survival. I recognize and acknowledge my privilege in being able to share my joy during a time where many are feeling the pain and pressure of our current administration.
I share this because I want to believe that the majority of us are just trying to be good people. Many of us are trying our best and in doing so may be struggling to find a balance between joy, guilt, outrage and happiness. Iâm currently somewhere between noticing the beauty in my everyday and managing my political rage. If this resonates, I encourage you lean into your communities more than ever and I send my love your way.
dear cindy,
last week a group of 13 women went on an adventure through cities, mountains, and the desert. 300+ miles later they ran to the vegas sign together and celebrated their accomplishment. this adventure was a true testament to teamwork and sisterhood. this group of women are forever bonded, through miles, tears, hills, and inner strength. every segment was a push towards the goal and a reminder that your teammates were waiting for you on the other side of the hill.
cindy, you jumped into this at a time where you werenât sure what your relationship with running should look like. you committed to the training and pushed your body to new heights. remember to always be grateful for this.
cindy, you came out of this race a different woman and runner. youâve always been told youâre gritty and this race proved it. TSP is like nothing youâve ever done before, but you tackled the elevation, exhaustion, and overnight runs head on. sin exageraciĂłn, this experience changed you. donât ever forget what youâre capable of.
cindy, you are someone who loves to plan ahead and this race pushed you to expect and accept the unexpected. these moments will become the best memories. you were able to co-lead with an extraordinary group of women. you were flexible and able to self regulate. remember to continue to lead from the heart and accept the love others pour into you.
some might think that running from los angeles to las vegas is crazy, and maybe theyâre right. but if this experience proves anything itâs that thereâs a trick to moving forward. the trick is, even if youâre scared, do it anyway. just as your teammate shared âthe love from our communities is proof that even when we donât talk about our dreams there are people watching, speaking light into us, inspired by us and walking shoulder to shoulder with us.â donât ever forget that there are folx who see you and believe in you.
cindy, youâre bigger and better than you yet know. happy birthday to youđ

much love to those who continuously take up space with me.
Say hello to our lovely Cindy, who is taking on the London Marathon with Women Make Moves âĄď¸âĄď¸âĄď¸â¨
What inspired you to take the first step towards London marathon?
Pure enthusiasm drove me to run the London Marathon. I had never had the chance to visit London and I thought there was no better way to sightsee, feel the love and embrace the community that London has to offer than to run through the streets that many call home. Marathon weekend is right after my birthday, this will be my first race as a 31 year old!
What are you most excited (or nervous about)?
What excites me most is the routine and discipline that marathon training offers. Winter training for spring races is tough, but itâs exciting to know that I have a team of London-based runners cheering me on as we all prepare to run for the same team! Itâs so special to know that I am sharing this journey with a powerful group of womxn with our NYC and London team collab.
What does being part of a running community mean to you?
The best part of running is doing it in community. It is necessary to have a space to feel seen, motivated and respected. Running in community, where we can encourage each other and not worry about pace or PR is everything. I remember training for my first marathon and thinking that running had strengthened my belief in the community because I was always welcomed with open arms. Forever grateful for the friendships and connections I have made while running. Cheers to celebrating every mile!
