Now the ice is going away it's time to post my best fish from this year's ice season. This is my pb trout thru the ice @ 29". This German strain Seeforellen brown trout absolutely slammed my jig as I was working it up from the depths. Was awesome to watch the chase on my @lowrancefishing ice explorer pack with ActiveTarget2.. makes this kind of fishing so much more fun! Ready for stripers and tuna.. let's go!

This fish deserves it's own post so here it is.. my new pb striped bass by length. 52" and 47lbs. Caught one that was heavier years ago but this one was more important as I caught it on topwater. We pulled up in pea soup fog and as we readied the weighted soft plastics one of my crew says they're blowing up on top! After switching back to topwater we got some decent fish the first drift, so i set back up as the last light was fading. I fired a cast to some busting fish and almost instantly I got tight. It wasn't a huge explosion it was a slurp.. I immediately knew this was a large fish. After what seemed like an eternity I got the fish up boat side. We were tripled up at this point so I had to handle this fish by myself. I made the mistake of thinking I could let the rod rest on the side of the boat while I attempted to grab the fish. Well as I went to grab it, it made a lunge and over goes my rod and reel! Luckily with just the butt of the rod bobbing above the surface I grabbed the rod! Was able to get her in and immediately got a @grayfishtag in her. Snapped a few pics and she swam away healthy to be caught again!
She was caught on a @jandhtackle doc with upgraded hooks by @ownerhooks on a @templeforkoutfitters tactical inshore rod and as always a Shimano reel.

Clear shot with that S5100: Approaching a whale that sounded to the bottom, lined up the boat to drop jigs and this showed up on the scope. A humpback laying on his belly, beating the bottom with his tail in which he excavates the sandeels that are burrowed; conveniently just in time for the 5pm dinner bell. With the common bluefin not too far away, they feast. The bluefin to the right of the whale was instantly hooked by @oni_surfcasting on a jig 🤙🏼
