SimplePod helps business owners launch, edit and grow their podcasts. Founded by brothers @justinleepeters and @kylepeters9610 in 2022, SimplePod provides audio and video production services to help podcasters create high-quality, professional shows.
Some of you know my brother Kyle and I started SimplePod a few years ago. What began as a side project has grown into a business helping people share their expertise through podcasts.
Along the way, we noticed a lot of smart, hardworking people loved their podcasts, but werenât sure they were actually working for them. So we created Podcast Playbook, a show about making podcasting easier, more useful, and worth the time.
We just launched with 7 episodes live. If youâd like to support us, you can follow the show, listen to an episode, or share it with someone whoâs podcasting (or thinking about it). Head to the link in my Linktree to check it out.
This week marks 6 years of podcasting!
Itâs wild how fast that time flew by. It feels like yesterday I was speaking into a Yeti mic the wrong way, figuring out how to record Skype calls, and learning how to get my show on âiTunes.â
In hindsight, those things didnât take long to learn.
But there have been important lessons that did take those six years to learn:
- Keeping listeners is a faster win than finding new ones.
- Clear problems and outcomes beat creative titles and vague topics.
- Staying ahead is easier than catching up.
- Feedback matters more than applause.
- Confidence comes from reps and reflection, not better gear or editing.
- Simplicity > complexity (workflows, tactics, and topics).
- Early podcasting is about validation. Mature podcasting is about contribution.
If youâve been podcasting for a year or less, youâre not behind. Youâre just building reps.
Curious which of these lessons youâre learning right now.
Had a blast at @podfestexpo
I spoke on helping podcasters escape the Podcast Hamster Wheel with my presentation, âA Simple System to Stay Weeks Ahead in Your Podcast Schedule.â
The goal is simple = create a podcast workflow that actually feels sustainable
Which has me curious. How far ahead do you like to be in your podcast schedule?
Canât wait to be speaking at PodFest 2026 this January!
Iâve attended this conference before, and itâs one of the best communities for podcast creators.
This time, Iâll be sharing some strategies Iâve learned helping business owners grow their shows.
Can you guess what topic Iâll be covering?
LinkedIn is starving for content.
Only 1% of users post regularly.
Compare that to 55% on Instagram.
No wonder LinkedIn posts live on for weeks
At our latest podcast meetup, Brittany Miller @brittanymiller.biz shared how podcasters can use this gap to grow faster on LinkedIn.
Sheâs convinced LinkedIn is the platform to grow your show and your personal brand.
After hearing this statâŚitâs hard to disagree.
Are you in or out on charging a fee to your podcast guests?
I was in a conversation earlier today and one podcaster charges guests for appearances while another said they would NEVER charge a guest.
I can understand both sides. This is a legitimate stream of income for the first podcaster. The other believes it comprises the integrity of the show.
What do you think?
Personal Finance for Long Term Investors is a show weâve gotten to craft alongside Jesse for multiple years now. Weâve produced over 100 episodes together, gone through a name change, and most recently, finally got to update his cover art (something weâve been begging him to do for a long time!) You can swipe to check out the before and after.
But most importantly Jesse is a really good friend and we love helping him personal finance education for his community.
A win worth celebrating!
One of my clients just hit his first 100+ download day:
âToday, we have 112 downloads so far. I think itâs our first single day where weâve had over a hundred in a day.â đ
Heâs pumped. And he should be! This didnât happen by chance. Heâs been putting in the work - creating consistent, quality content that speaks directly to his niche audience.
The best part? Heâs only 22 episodes in.
Proud of the progress my client has made and excited to see what comes next.
Whatâs a recent podcast win youâve celebrated, big or small?
