A group of around 20 "Bristol Patriot" anti-immigration protesters were vastly outnumbered by several hundred counter-protestors, and needed police protection. They attempted to march from Castle Park but were prevented from making any significant movement by the opposing crowd. They'd made it to Broadmead when I left. #Bristol, August 2025.
These two pictures are from eleven years ago: a protest in July 2014 against BBC bias when reporting Israeli attacks on Gaza during that month. The banner in the first image reads "BBC is responsible for protecting terrorist Israel in committing ongoing Palestinian genocide". #Bristol, July 12th 2014. It was reported that 2,256 Palestinians died and 17,125 were injured as a result of Israeli actions in Gaza in July and August 2014.
August 6th 2020, Castle Park, Bristol, 08:16am. A die-in to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the 1945 bombing of Hiroshima, in which an estimated 140,000 people were killed. Today is the 80th anniversary.
