It’s probably about time I re-introduced myself as I don’t always show my face on here. My name is Simon and I am a Photographer & Filmmaker based in Edinburgh. I mostly work in the Travel and Wedding industry, but I love to dabble in different projects across different industries - it helps keep it fun and exciting for me. I’ve been working as a photographer since 2017 and went full time when after I finished my masters in Marine Science back in Autumn 2019. I love the freedom and challenges presented with working for yourself and love what I do. It’s definitely not without its stresses and anxieties but I wouldn’t change it for anything. I love spending time in the outdoors, traveling and eating good food with friends and family. I currently live in a flat with my girlfriend not far from the city centre of Edinburgh and love to call this place home. I’ve got some exciting news, after months of refining and testing, my new Nostalgia Presets are now live and available for purchase on my online store. This collection of presets has been born out of the desire to create something that feels a bit more nostalgic and analogue compared to the cleaner look I achieve with my Everyday Presets. The four main colour looks each have a distinct but cohesive filmic style that aims to add more of a nostalgic feeling to the images by using classic colours and film-inspired editing techniques. Each look has three variations for different tastes, styles and environments. The presets have been tested across a wide array of cameras in a variety of natural and artificial lighting settings. Whilst these presets can of course be used straight out of the box, I’d encourage you to pick them apart, see how I’m using Lightroom to edit my photos and build your own looks from them.
