I'm delighted to announce my concerts for the next few months! It's gonna be busy, especially combined with the preparations for my final exam in June, but I wouldn't have it any other way ☺️ First up is a very lovely project with @klaartje_soprano , performing Pergolesi's Stabat Mater in Willem Wilmink's Dutch translation, led by @johannesleertouwer ! Then, I return to my dear Zieuwent to sing the St Matthew Passion with @paaspopklassiek . I can't wait to be back, last year already feels like entirely too long ago! Last but definitely not least, I will be performing BWV 74 with @bachopzaterdag , on behalf of the @internationalvocalcompetition . The last time I sang there will be two years ago at the time of the concert! It's been so long, and I'm really looking forward to it 😁 And with all of that going on, I'm working on my final exam as well. I'll keep you posted, I'm having a lot of fun with it! Countertenor Simon Heerze (Amsterdam, 2002) began his career with Bach and other baroque, but quickly developed into a versatile singer with interests ranging from Claudio Monteverdi to contemporary music. Simon’s contemporary music performances include the Opera Forward Festival of the Dutch National Opera in March of 2025, where he played the role of Eletta in mini-opera “Huzz, Shaqq, Batar” by Arefeh Hekmatpanah. Additionally, he has collaborated with Amsterdam-based composer Ron Mesland on recordings of the latter’s song cycle, “God or the Boy”. As an early music singer, he has performed cantatas with the Westerkerkkoor Amsterdam and Bach Collegium ’s-Hertogenbosch (on behalf of the International Vocal Competition), i.a., and in 2024 he made his debut as solo alto in Bach’s “St Matthew Passion” and “Christmas Oratorio” with Oost Klassiek. In January of the same year, he portrayed Egeo in Handel’s “Teseo”, directed by early music titan Michael Chance CBE at the KC. In 2026, Simon will conclude his studies at the Royal Conservatoire, where he studies with Amand Hekkers, Francesca Aspromonte, Pascal Bertin, and Robin Blaze. Until September of 2024, he was also a student of Peter Kooij.

Proudly presenting the Zeewier Ensemble! We are sopranos Luīze Razdovska and Nuria Kouwenhoven, and countertenor Simon Heerze, aiming to bring a broad range of colorful music to your ears! We formed the Zeewier Ensemble at the Koninklijk Conservatorium as classmates and friends, together with composer Axel Eik, a KC alum. What started as working together in our studies quickly turned into the shape and idea of Zeewier Ensemble. Last year, the three of us worked together with Axel to bring his piece “3 Counterpoints for Sopranos” to life for the KC Lab at the Korzo Theater. This piece and the rehearsal process inspired the name of the ensemble: zeewier, or seaweed. Being fluid, flexible and following the current is something that seaweed and musicians have in common. As the Zeewier Ensemble, we want to inspire you to embrace atmospheric auditory landscapes and follow the current together! “Laat de lach van wie schoon zijn mij bekoren / Van ieder volk, op ieder uur”. Concert & presentatie van cd met tekstboekje. Concert Sold out!@splendoramsterdam . Op 25-9-25 zingen countertenor @simonheerze en bas-bariton @vanbaarjoris mijn liederencyclus ‘God of de knaap’. Prachtig begeleid door pianist @hans.schellevis Schellevis. Dit drietal nam 31 van deze stukken op voor de gelijknamige cd, die dan ook verschijnt. Ik begon in 2018 al met het op muziek zetten van de kwatrijnen van #jacobisraeldehaan, die op dit moment actueler lijken dan ooit. De Haan was queer, Joods, en werd gaandeweg zijn verblijf in Palestina zeer kritisch op het zionisme, wat hem uiteindelijk het leven kostte: in 1924 werd hij vermoord. Dag 3 van Batenburg Baroque Festival: Toekomstmuziek door de deelnemers van de Suyderhoud Academy 2025 Wat een heerlijke afsluitende concerten van de Suyderhoud Academy, het opleidingstraject ter ondersteuning van jong talent, vernoemd naar Frank Suyderhoud. Vier jonge talenten: Adriano da Silva Trarbach, Aliki Siousti, Noa van den Berg en Simon Heerze werkten onder leiding van klaveciniste Tineke Steenbrink samen met musici van Holland Baroque aan ‘Toekomstmuziek’, een nieuw programma waarin zij solistisch optreden. Daarnaast namen zij ook deel aan concerten voor leerlingen van zes basisscholen in Wijchen en Ravenstein. Vijf Batenburgers vormden de jaarlijks wisselende publieksjury. Zij reikten na afloop van het tweede concert van Toekomstmuziek aan elke deelnemer een juryrapport uit: een erkenning en stimulans voor de talenten. De Suyderhoud Academy 2025 heeft laten zien dat de toekomst van de muziek in goede handen is. 🙏 Aan iedereen die die mogenlijk maakt. Foto's Wouter Jansen
