Getting close to hitting the road in the #hoodson. 350 is in and running, just needs a bit of tuning. Ended up fitting a brand new aluminium rad after the original one I got with the car was leaking around where I modified it. Learnt a lesson, it's difficult to mig weld cast steel and get it water tight! Oh well, the new rad looks good. Dash is all complete and I've checked all wiring is working, and the gear change all done on the original column. #Hoodson update. After a week off work it's starting to look more like a complete car again. Seems like it's been up on axle stands for months while I undersealed the whole of the underneath and painted the chassis. All the bits I could remove in the engine bay got powder coated. Really happy with how the under the hood area looks. Got a few things to do underneath ( but don't want it on axle stands again just yet...), finish off the wiring, and @f1truck51 has taken away the dash and steering column / steering wheel to paint.... not too far off... #52hudson #1952hudson #hudsonwasp #hudsonhollywood hollywoodapproved

Update on the #Hoodson . Got the rear suspension all done, apart from mounting the shocks, I think I've figured out where to put them, just waiting on some mountings to be delivered. Rear 8 inch is triangulated 4 link that I just about squeezed in. Luckily, the bottom links I attached where the stock leaf springs mounted, which was a bonus. Top links I tried to get close to parallel at ride height, meaning the pinion angle won't move too much. So, been a while since I updated on the #hoodson, but I've been busy on it.. 😉 Picked up a mustang 3:1 8 inch rear at the weekend and since then I've notched the rear ( just a half 4 inch pipe notch ) and managed to squeeze in a triangulated 4 link in there with bags behind the axle ( just mocked up ). I was so desperate to drop it on it's wheels I didn't get any pics 😄 Stance is absolutely spot on what I wanted. Update on the #hoodson . Got front air bags all mounted and working ( slam specialties SS6s ). 60psi gives 5 inch clearance on the mustang 2 crossmember to the floor, and the A arms sit about level, so all looks good so far.... I've also got the engine mounts in properly and made a trans mount for the TH350. I did have to modify the original trans crossmember to clearance the TH350 sump. Took about 2 inches off the height and it just clears the sump now, but you can always unbolt it if required. I did think about removing this but it does look to be a pretty important structural part... Bought a complete mustang 2 kit off ebay for the #hoodson, from the same place I bought the kit for the 38, and that's been great since getting the 38 done. I always replace the top balljoints for some named ones, but apart from that it's a good kit.
So this weekend I tackled the job of smoothing off the chassis rails ready to it. Tried to keep it looking factory so used the same gauge steel as stock and completely boxed them and overlapped the C sections. Still plan to add a plate across the outter section where it was welded, just for extra piece of mind.
