I have been a partner to women who have had abortions and DNCs, have taken emergency contraception and multiple other forms of birth control. I am the person I am today because of those decisions that I was a part of making. Were some of them difficult to make? Yes. Incredibly so. Did they effect me? Yes. But not remotely as much as they effected those women and their bodies. Which is to say that in the face of this difficulty, we were still able to have agency over our lives and the futures we wanted for ourselves, as well as the futures we eventually wanted for the children we planned on having. I thank our modern world, our science, our enlightenment, and most of all our strong and empowered, barrier-breaking women for giving us that choice. Without it, I would not be who I am today. I would not be the husband, the father, the son, the brother or the friend that I am proud to be at this very moment. The agency of others matters. I am a living example of that. #bansoffherbody
