10th semester, thesis project: Anchoring Anchoring is about stillness - and about finding balance in the midst of difficult emotions. When describing what this space is about, I placed great emphasis on the idea of focus. A space that doesn’t demand to much attention through form or materiality, but instead ties you to the place and allows space for the body to settle. Stone, copper, and brass became key materials in this part of the work. Their weight, warmth, and permanence helped reinforce a sense of grounding and presence. In my archive, I had also included the clock. The clock holds symbolic weight - connected to time, repetition, and the certainty of change - but in its original form, it felt too literal. I decided to take it apart - to deconstruct and reassemble it in a new way. Through this process, the idea of the bell chamber emerged. I was no longer interested in the function of the clock, but in its internal logic - its rhythm, structure, and spatial complexity.

10th semester: introducing my thesis project My thesis project, “Haptic Gestures, Spatial Traces” is an investigation into how architecture can emerge from the tactile and the found. The direction of my project has been driven by a deep fascination with objects and their inherent, compelling tactile qualities - qualities that speak to both my mind and my hands. This investigation emphasises a phenomenological approach, suggesting that architectural knowledge arises not merely from abstract concepts, but through bodily and sensory interactions with the materials that form our spatial surroundings. Following an iterative, hands-on research methodology, I have examined how material exploration informs architectural thinking. Through a continuous exchange between production and reflection, the process unfolds in an iterative dialogue between material exploration and architectural reflection - allowing material properties to guide spatial and atmospheric explorations.
