LONDON FRIENDS!!! 🚨
There are usually a handful of day release (cheaper) tickets available for the stalls for most shows. DM me if thinking of coming and don’t mind which day/you can do short notice.
It’s our 50th show tonight!!! In the blink of an eye. Having an absolute blast with an awesome company. Come see us soon!!

I am a firm believer in serendipity but this, yesterday, truly BLEW MY MIND!!!
Post show I was approached by this American gentleman from the audience. We started chatting (he loved the show) and as we got into the legal implications of the story he informed me he was a lawyer, and then a little later a “well known lawyer”. As he talked further about his initiative, the @innocenceproject and the use of DNA testing in criminal cases it dawned on me I knew exactly who he was. This is Barry Scheck, one of the most prominent lawyers in the world and part of ‘The Dream Team’ that defended OJ Simpson in the so-called ‘Trial of the Century’. O.J SIMPSON’s ATTORNEY!!!!
What is totally mind boggling is that I used the OJ trial as research for this role and was watching it in detail during rehearsals. It’s absolutely crazy to me that this is one of the handful of lawyers I studied in the lead up to this show, a huge part of arguably the most famous trial ever, one I am completely fascinated by, and here he was - the universe had not only plonked him in the audience but had driven him to introduce himself to me. Whatever you may or may not think about OJ’s guilt (Mr. Sheck’s answer to the question he must have been asked more than any other was enlightening btw), it was a trial that gripped the world and encapsulated the core principles of justice, evidence and proving guilt beyond reasonable doubt, all themes that resound throughout @witnessplayldn . This felt like absolutely delicious happenstance. And he told me I made a totally convincing barrister, so…😉🤯🤯🤯.

Press Night for @witnessplayldn . What a play, what a privilege to play this part in the West End (the youngest actor to ever do so) and what an honour to work with this INCREDIBLE cast. An absolute blast, truly a memorable evening and a really proud moment. Here’s to the next six months team!

On this exact day 16 years ago I underwent surgery to remove a tumour from the left side of my brain. There was quite a lot of other even scarier stuff going on, but the night before the operation I was also told that there was an 80% chance of facial paralysis and that I may never be able to move the left side of my face again. Not exactly the best look for an actor. I had just graduated drama school and I thought my career was over before it had really started. But I remember promising myself on the hospital bed that I would get through the operation and one day I would realise my ambitions. I tell this story now because next week I have the opportunity to do just that. I am finally going to play the lead role in a West End show. I am so excited to announce that for the next six months I shall play Sir Wilfrid Robarts QC in Agatha Christie (and Lucy Bailey’s) incredible @witnessplayldn . It’s a fantastic show and a wonderful company, full of astonishing actors. I couldn’t be prouder. Never give up. Keep fighting for those dreams. We open next week!
As the fake tattoos fade and the tache grows out a brief pause to reflect on what was, not just the adventure of a lifetime but a year and a half of my life that I will cherish forever. A part and a show I fell in love with. The company of dreams to share it with. We have been family for so long it feels sad and strange to go our separate ways, but such is this acting life. We will always have China and beyond that, we’ll always have our UK adventure, the life and the memories that we created on and off stage and were lucky enough to share with hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Adieu Samuel Ratchett. Adieu Murder on the Orient Express. It’s been deadly.
8000 miles between us, but never truly apart.
Happy Anniversary my love. Six years of happiness and strength in togetherness. Six years of adventures alongside each other and a fair few paths trodden alone (!). But never without support and rock solid love. I’m so sorry we can’t celebrate with each other today but you and the memory of our beautiful rain swept day will be with me every step. ❤️
And a Shanghai Supernova it certainly was. What a week. What an incredible city. So beyond anything I expected. The scale and the skyscrapers wow, but it’s the leafy avenues, the laid back culture, the bars, coffee shops, restaurants, artists that I have totally fallen in love with. In a week I could only scratch the surface but if you ever get a chance to visit Shanghai…grab it with both fricking hands.
1. View from the hotel gym.
2. An agave lab.
3. The French Concession of my heart.
4. A Taoist worshipping with water. His words dry as quickly as he paints them, the ultimate expression of impermanence.
5. A dude who’s literal job seems to be to not let the cat of the bag
6. The tangled alleyways of Tianzifang.
7. View from the Bund.
8. Concrete Jungle.
9. A man and his wares.
10. Hotel Brekkie

We are open!!! And what an amazing show in front of the warmest audience you could possibly ask for.
I feel lucky every day to work with such a talented team, and not just those of us on stage. A huge thank you to all the guys back stage on @orientexpressplay but also to our new Chinese team who are doing incredible stuff behind the scenes. The show and the publicity around it has never looked so beautiful.
Next stop… Shanghai!!!
