A #Velvia moment from the mid-1990s of Malcolm Matheson attempting a project on the False Modesty Pinnacle at Mt Buffalo, Victoristan. Iâm not sure if this arete is still a project all these years later, but given the high admin approach and knarlyness of the climbing, that would be my guess.
The second photo, showing the whole pinnacle and Malcolm leading Vanity Fair (25) up the middle puts it into context. The project is the arete down to his left.

Why be a photographer if I also need to also write one thousand words? Canât some things just speak for themselves?
I was just browsing through my archive on a rainy Sunday afternoon and, since when I see shots like this I get reminded of so many darn good things, I wanted to share some đ§đťđˇâ¤ď¸. And leave it to you to make of it what you will.

How cool! đđ¤
Was just scrolling past my archive and this pearler from 1991 caught my eye.
Maybe itâs the camo tights, or maybe I just realised how lucky I was to capture some of Simeyâs early moments of glory, but I thought it was pretty cool. đ

I have just released a new video in which I reveal my new âground-to-cliff-topâ, or âground-to-climb-topâ, remote-control camera rig for the first time. đĽđŁđˇđĽđđ
This is one of the new lightweight remote rigs Iâve been developing the last year, and I reckon this one is a game-changer for climbing photography. No, it wonât replace abseiling in all situations, far from it. But in some situations, it has some significant advantages. Also, this rig opens up possibilities for new angles that simply canât be gained from abseil. Iâve been in this game a long time, and as you can see, Iâm very excited by this!

I'm excited to announce that my first video is now live on my new YouTube channel! đđđ
My first video, "30 years of climbing photography: my craziest shoot ever!" is a wild ride. I've spent the last year developing remote-control camera rigs for climbing photography, and this video puts one of my setups, and me, to the test. I should probably add a language warning⌠đ¤
The link to the video is in my bio!
Check it out, leave a comment with your thoughts on the rig, and don't forget to subscribe, like, and share! đ
Enjoy! Iâm looking forward to making more of these. Thanks everyone for your support!
