Introducing #LBA’s next surprise summer faculty reveal: SIMON BALL! We are looking forward to welcoming him for our 2026 intensive - Mark your calendars (June 15-July 17) for training marked by excellence and refinement. Meet SIMON BALL: Simon’s professional journey began in 1995 at Boston Ballet, where his abilities quickly propelled him from the corps de ballet to soloist in 1996 and principal dancer in 1999. In 2003, he joined Houston Ballet as a principal dancer, captivating audiences with his commanding performances until his retirement from the stage in 2015. Throughout his career, Simon performed leading roles in classical masterpieces such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Onegin, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty, as well as in a diverse repertoire by iconic choreographers including George Balanchine, Jiří Kylián, Twyla Tharp, William Forsythe, and Christopher Wheeldon. His artistry brought depth and grace to each role, earning him international acclaim. His accolades include the coveted gold medal at the International Ballet Competitions in both Jackson, Mississippi, and the Rudolf Nureyev Competition in Budapest, Hungary, as well as performing at the prestigious Benois de la Danse gala. Simon Ball joined the faculty of Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet (CPYB) in 2015, bringing with him the artistry and expertise cultivated over a distinguished 20-year stage career. At CPYB, Simon has embraced the opportunity to stage and serve as full time Faculty, Men’s Program Coordinator, and Rehearsal Director for numerous productions, further enriching the school’s tradition of excellence. Simon has shared his passion and knowledge with institutions including Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy, the schools of Boston Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Kansas City Ballet and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, among others. His dedication to mentoring young dancers reflects the same artistry and precision that defined his performance career, leaving an indelible mark on the next generation of ballet artists. Stay tuned for next week’s reveal of more guest faculty! #lbasummerintensive #littletonballetacademy #guestfaculty #balletsummerprogram

I am so proud of the progress this young lady has made within this extraordinary year! Starting the year virtually on the west coast and now in person at CPYB her drive has been wonderfully consistent! #smilingbehindmymask

While the recent comments made on GMA were disturbing, I am thrilled to see the support for young men in ballet within the dance community and beyond. The comments made were obviously uninformed since interest in dance for boys is booming. I’m proud to say that our Men’s Program at CPYB has never been stronger! Our faculty, both male and female, not only give male students the tools to reach their goals as dancers, but also the support to know that their commitment to training in ballet is OK for a boy. The guidance of committed male teachers and mentors who can share real life experiences and advice with our male students is so valuable! I am privileged to be on a team with the likes of Matthew Donnell, Renato Penteado, Nicholas Ade and Alan Hineline. I am honored and privileged to continue the legacy of Marcia Dale Weary who was able to form successful male dancers, but above all else impart what it means to be a true gentlemen. It is also more apparent than ever the reasons why continuing to provide access and remove barriers for young men to train through scholarship programs at CPYB is so important! #cpyb #cpybmensprogram #cpyballet #cpybmen #boysdancetoo #boysdancetoothemovement
