But Iām the first person in my family to be a pirate.
A pirate has no hometown. She only cares about love and money and she steals from everybody.
My sandals are the same and thatās why I called them Pirati:
originally from Amalfi but with a sole shape stolen from Arabian Nights, gangster movies and Porschesā¦ tartan patterns from Scotland, but bubble gum coloursā¦ jewels from my treasure chest, shapes from my dreams.

Meet PUNCHš¹
Gladiator sandals are a personal favourite that I continue to revisit whenever possible. With the wonderful and talented artisan who makes our Pirati I worked to create an entirely new style where all straps run on gently diagonal axes, accentuating the handmade nature of the sandal. Beautiful signature SV nickel-plated buckles, chain and pendant complete the sandal. Full leather sole with rubber heel and 30mm natural cork wedge heel. As with all sandals in the Pirati range, the Punch features our unique sole shape, a hybrid of influences from sports car detailing to the Arabian nights to gangster moviesā¦ Made in Amalfi Coast from 100% Italian materials.

We take a quick break from our āPirati programmingā to remind you where the hybrid language of Piratiās very particular sole shape began: the Simona Vanth New Arabian Nights clog, launched in 2019 and kept in collection until 2021ā¦
The original Simona Vanth caprese sandal, the Whisky is an asymmetrical thong sandal where the inner strapās oversized shape and ergonomic shaping help offer extra support and comfort to the foot. The thong is finished with the signature Sumona Vanth bow whilst the sole uses the traditional Caprese construction with the addition of a small cork wedge heel for comfort and support. Full leather sole and rubber heel detail.
A bold criss-cross caprese sandal style, the Rumās upper and inner sole are made entirely from our signature acid-tartan printed leathers with an EVA sole for a lighter overall weight and a softer walking feel. As with all sandals in the Pirati range, the Rum features our unique sole shape, a hybrid of influences from sports car detailing to the Arabian nights to gangster moviesā¦ Made in Amalfi Coast from 100% Italian materials.

my friend, aspiring actress @martinadalfino , came to visit us in Genova a few weeks ago and her natural beauty, style and personality meant that I had to ask her to interpret the Pirati style together with me on a little shoot, playing characters from Ligurian surfer bum to signorina con un poā di soldini, to Positano shopkeeper to sun-blasted tourist shopping in post-beach daze.

It was my great fortune to meet, through my aunt who owns and runs a classic Caprese sandal shop in the center of Amalfi, Giovanni, the owner of a little factory in the area whose enthusiasm and passion inspired us to try to create a range of caprese sandals that would add something to the history of this tradition, or at least we like to say at home, create a range of sandals that look like they were designed by an artisan who smoked too much one eveningā¦
Looking at these photos is like feeling the smell of Amalfi in summer ..cedars, sea salt, clams, hot stones and sun cream..
