Super excited to share a new series created with @brooklyneditions , presented by Heather Gaudio Fine Art at IFPDA Editions, April 9–12 at the Park Avenue Armory, NY
The work began with relief plates made with Dan Welden, then evolved through layers of collage, drawing, and etching into a hybrid edition, printed with chine collé.
Deep gratitude to Brooklyn Editions - true pros and such an immense pleasure work with. Every project together has impacted my work, and I’m always looking for reasons to keep it going 💪🏼🩶. Special shout out to Maya @maya_fancam_2.9kviews , who added so much to this series.

When my MTA Art & Design installation launched, I thought I had made enough moving images for a lifetime. I spent the next two years deep in paper, collage, printmaking - anything but video.
Then last spring, @hotwoodarts invited me back (3rd show! 😇) to create a site-specific video piece for their beautiful Red Hook gallery. Teaming up with the amazing @kyle.luntz on the sound art, plus the dreamy and ominous pedal steel + ondes martinot from @rvahey totally reignited my love for video + sound. One of the best creative experiences of my life 🤍💪🏼

Huge thanks to @iperaria - your circus acrobatics were the spark. @amorepsichetrio and her sister Ilaria filmed the handstand footage with a traveling circus in Italy and France.

🎉 Meet the Artists of 4heads Rockaway 2025!
Simona Prives @simonaprives is a visual artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Having received her MFA from Pratt Institute, Prives creates animated collages that incorporate a variety of themes and materials. Her multimedia work is about locating ourselves in the built and natural environments at this particular moment in history. She explores themes that focus on the process of decomposition and reconstruction, the dialectic of growth and decay, and that examine our complex relationship between the organic and the man-made.
Simona Prives will be showing a site-specific triptych on Japanese paper at the 4Heads Rockaway 2025 exhibition.

Simona Prives creates collages that are combinations of maps, screen prints, and found material. Initially, geological and industrial maps are disassembled and reconfigured turning worlds that are familiar into the abstract. Lastly, paper, fabric, and watercolors are overlaid onto the piece making each creation unique.
In 2021 Prives completed a 52 screen digital collage and animation entitled “Even While The Dust Moves” for the MTA at Fulton Center in lower Manhattan.
