Born in East London to a single mother, no one would have expected Emma Grede to get to where she has today: one of the world’s richest self-made women, a serial entrepreneur, co-founder and CEO of Good American and the founding partner of SKIMS, podcaster and mentor. Emma is opening the door to show you exactly how to achieve your goals. Start With Yourself is a revolutionary new framework, an indispensable manual for getting out of your own way and fulfilling your potential. Through managing your emotions, realising what you really want, and dispensing with ‘Old Thoughts’ (like prioritising work-life balance’) and replacing them with New Thoughts, you can unlock the life you’ve always dreamed of. You need to take responsibility for your life. Whatever success looks like for you, this is a toolkit to get there on your own terms. If Emma can do it, why can’t you? “We cried, we laughed, and we held hands,” remarked co-author Suneeta Prajapati, when asked how it felt to write the collective memoir of Khabar Lahariya with her fellow women journalists 💗 Here are some highlights from the historic book launch of The Good Reporter and Badi Aayi Patrakar, which was held on Friday, 8th May at the @triveni.kala.sangam ✨ A big thank you to our moderators Urvashi Butalia, Farah Naqvi, and Suman Gupta, the entire Khabar Lahariya and Triveni team, and to everyone who attended the event and bought a book! 🫶 In an increasingly AI-driven media landscape, the stories of these ten women need to be as loud as possible to preserve the human essence of journalism today. 📰 #khabarlahariya #womeninjournalism #journalism #nonfictionbooks #trivenikalasangam

Qotd: Suggest me the weirdest book that you have read. This book is not at all what I expected. When I heard the title, I thought "oh wow a horror book that involves monsters in a campsite? Its gonna be so scary" but what I came across is something entirely different. The monsters include mermaids who will tickle you to death.. yes Tickle😂, a group of warriors on horses who will kill you if you arent excited for christmas, a little girl crying outside your window day and night waiting for you to call her inside so that she can kill you and so on. I mean I havent read these in any book so far and thats what made this book so unique for me. I loved the variety of monsters and their quirks and the way they hunted people. The story is still very eerie, uncomfortable and scary and kept me hooked like I am watching someone a cricket game, waiting for them to win it. It is fast paced with short chapters and I absolutely loved reading this. Ill definitely recommend it if you wanna try a horror or scary book but doesnt want to read the usuals. Fun fact: The author of this book actually started posting these stories on reddit as part of the #nosleep stories.. uk the ones we come across in the night time that will make us look whether we have locked our door or look back to see if there are any ghosts behind us.. yeah those. So yes this was a very fun reading experience for me and let me know if you decide to pick it up 🥰 #horrorbooks #bookstagram #readmore #explore

📍22 May | Fri | 6:30PM | Hindi and English ➡️ The Story of Indian Media, in a Different Voice Khabar Lahariya means news waves. For twenty-five years, a group of women in Bundelkhand created exactly that through their reporting, filming, editing, broadcasting. All in a region that had never seen women read the news, much less report it. This session marks the launch of The Good Reporter — a biography of India’s only all-women rural news collective, written from the inside out through a unique collective process. The grief and the anger. The thrill and the resistance. What it means in today’s world to negotiate caste, class and patriarchy as a woman, a journalist, and a writer all at once. Free and open to all ✉️ RSVP link in bio!

From Hell’s Belles BookTok sensation Jaysea Lynn! A fiery romantasy about love, dark magic, and a young woman’s adventure in the Afterlife, perfect for fans of Sarah A. Parker and Callie Hart 🔥 Lily isn’t exactly thrilled with her arrival in the Afterlife, but what awaits her there is more fantastical than she ever could have imagined. Deities wait in line at the coffee shop. Fae flit between realms. Souls find ways to make death a beginning. As she explores the many corners of the Afterlife, Lily finds herself surprisingly drawn to a place most people would avoid at all costs: Hell. Armed with years of customer service experience and pent-up sarcasm, Lily carves a job out for herself amongst Hell’s demons, sending souls to their rightful circles with more than a hint of sass. Lily’s expectations are subverted every day in Hell – especially by Bel, a demon general with a distractingly sexy voice. The two meet by chance and form an immediate, deeply healing friendship, but the undeniable heat between them threatens to combust. Meanwhile, something stirs beyond the boundaries of their world, threatening to destroy everything they’ve known and everything that could be… unless they fight like Hell to stop it. FOR WHOM THE BELLE TOLLS by @jaysea.ya.later is OUT NOW 🥵 #forwhomthebelletolls #jaysealynn #romantasy #bookstagram #booktok

#NewBookAlert ⚛️ Presenting the much awaited & talked about book: China’s Wars - The Politics and Diplomacy Behind its Military Coercion by Vijay Gokhale, published by @simonandschusterin The People’s Republic of China has engaged in military coercion or grey-zone wars with several major powers and neighbours since 1949. Portraying itself always as the victim of aggression, it holds adversaries responsible for provoking conflict by trampling on China’s national security and, thus, compelling it to retaliate in self defence. Its ability to achieve political objectives even with more powerful adversaries while absolving itself of blame and justifying the use of force, makes it formidable to deal with. This book explores the complex factors that shape China’s decisions to deploy force by delving into its politics, diplomacy and military think-ing, as well as the tools that it uses to craft favourable narratives, through specific case-studies from the 1950s till current times. It is intended to uncover the politics and diplomacy behind China’s coer-cive behaviour and to identify possible patterns in their decision-making process that might be useful to practitioners, strategists or re-searchers who study why and when China might, in the future, engage in military coercion or conflict. #BuyOriginal 💮 #BuyFromPI #PadhegaIndia 📚
