Meet artist @simonafloreaart , who transforms inner shifts into calm, powerful works of art.
“I always knew I wanted to paint,” Simona says. But for many years that dream waited while she studied and worked abroad in international relations. Writing became her creative outlet — the only form that could move with her.
After resettling in Malmö, she finally began to paint. Mostly self-taught, with courses in croquis and silk painting, Simona discovered a way to bring together everything she had lived, understood and transformed.
Alongside her work as a counsellor in integrative psychotherapy, her art explores growth, courage and the path back to ourselves.
“My work begins in real inner shifts — the moment something has to change, the courage to choose a new direction. I am also inspired by places that become part of us and by people who have lived in full alignment with their values, like Josephine Baker.”
Through layered compositions and harmonious colours, her paintings reflect clarity, calm and the strength that can emerge from transformation.
“My work is about becoming — and recognizing that in each other.”
Because sometimes, when we look at art, we don’t just see the work.

✨ Eye Hold – A Journey of Shadow & Light ✨
My art has always begun in shadow. The harmony I painted was true — but for a long time I only showed the polished result. Not because I was faking it, but because I needed time to find another way to express what also lived inside me.
I was afraid of sharing the darker origins of the journey. Partly because of the expectations I thought others had of me — and partly because I felt the world already carries so much darkness. I wanted to inspire light, not risk weighing life down with more.
The turning point came when I dared to let go of those expectations. Slowly, I stepped outside the structure. Eventually, I began releasing it all — and daring to share not only the light, but the shadows, the layers, the full process that shapes transformation.
This new body of work is about that integration: holding space for it all. Light and shadow, broken structures and new forms — nothing left behind, everything included and synthesized into a new form.

This year’s @malm ögallerihelg feels especially meaningful. After a summer full of challenges — still without access to my studio — I’ve been creating these new works right in my kitchen. Sometimes transformation asks us to adapt in unexpected ways, and this body of work has been exactly that.
I’m proud to invite you to Eye Hold – A Journey of Shadow and Light, presented through @coart.se in collaboration with @kauinteriors at Davidshallsgatan 11. 🌌 This exhibition marks the last steps of a transformation that began two years ago with Stepping Out of the Lines — and I can’t wait to finally share it with you.
As always, I’ll have fine art prints available at reduced prices — even more this time, since I need to let go of the works I’ve been keeping at home (no storage makes for big clearance 🙃).

Was looking in phone for previous chatts with @svartochwitt to give a go on a frame and found these beautiful pictures they took after remounting ”Grace” on a new proper frame. I remember thinking that I’ll share it later with you and it never happen. It’s been a few years now since I finished the commission for ”Grace” and yes she is inspired by ”The Goddess” and god knows it was difficult to paint after another of my originals and still give the same strong feeling yet a distinct identity that the customers was looking for and loved with ”The Goddess”. I never paint the same original twice and as of this challenge- I will not try to recreate the ”same” feeling/identity but in a new original. I know now that they are only born once❤️

Today is Semlans dag, the official day to indulge in one of Sweden’s most beloved pastry! A fluffy cardamom bun, filled with almond paste and whipped cream. As I sit down with a freshly baked one, I can’t help but appreciate the contrast —tradition meets bold, unapologetic expression. Behind it, my painting “PRIDE” - two profiles, one kiss, infinite love bursting with color, energy, and the joy of being fully seen. 🌈💋

✨Sometimes, the creative process takes unexpected turn- While painting Copenhagen 2022, I did my usual deep dive into the cities landmarks and architecture. And here is the part that many have no idea about- I accidentally included a building that wasn’t in Copenhagen. I didn’t realize it until the painting was already photographed, and I was writing the certificate—the day before exhibiting it at @cphartspace .✨
My only option was to paint over it and add ‘Åttan’ instead. No pressure, right? I was so stressed and nervous about messing the whole painting up. One wrong move and I could find myself needing days of extra work. But what’s art if not problem-solving with a paintbrush!
