Aktuell bei uns zu Gast im Rahmen des Atelieraustauschprogramms in Kooperation mit dem @salzamtlinz : Künstler Simon Reitmann. Er studierte Bildhauerei an der Kunstuniversität Linz sowie an der Universität für angewandte Kunst Wien. In seiner Arbeit beschäftigt er sich mit dem Alltäglichen und der Veränderung dessen. Durch Materialeingriffe, Verzerren, Dehnen oder Stauchen, Volumenzunahme oder -abnahme versucht er, das Normale mit kleinen Eingriffen so zu verändern, dass sich für die Betrachtenden Möglichkeiten eröffnen, das eigene Leben anders wahrzunehmen. Humor und Sarkasmus sind dabei ein wiederkehrendes Mittel, um den Blick auf zeitgenössische Thematiken zu lenken. Wichtige Ausstellungen waren im Österreichischen Kulturforum Budapest, im Kunsthaus Graz, bei der Klimabiennale Wien sowie in der Kunsthalle Linz. Seine Arbeiten sind in verschiedenen wichtigen privaten und öffentlichen Sammlungen vertreten. Simon könnt ihr zum Beispiel kommendes Wochenende im Rahmen der Kunstspur antreffen - auch er wird das Gastatelier für euch öffnen. Wir freuen uns auf euch! Fotos: @simon.reitmann @theresa_schh

Opening of the Exhibition BLIND SPOTS On the evening of Friday, April 25, 2025, the exhibition BLIND SPOTS opened with a moving and thought-provoking vernissage. Numerous guests gathered at the gallery to explore artistic spaces created by @martinamorger , @carolinariveraarboleda & @simon.reitmann – spaces that make the invisible visible and challenge our collective ways of seeing. The evening was set into motion by an eloquent welcome from Sarah Kirsch (@fraukaersch ), whose speech invited us to understand blind spots not merely as absences of perception, but as urgent calls to look more closely. Sarah highlighted how art can serve as a tool for naming the unseen – and in doing so, can open spaces for dialogue, reflection, and change. Secret Bird Space, 2025 Teil der Ausstellung ,,Kunst für eine klimasoziale Stadt“, ist noch bis 30. April, am Hauptplatz in Linz zu sehen. Schaut vorbei und interagiert mit der Skulptur, die als Futterstelle für Vögel dient – insbesondere für Arten, die im urbanen Stadtbild kaum noch anzutreffen sind. Gleichzeitig verbirgt sich im Inneren ein „geheimer“ Raum: ein Museum, das eine posthumane Zeit thematisiert und den Blick auf das Normale, das Alltägliche lenkt – und darauf, wie filigran und verletzlich die Welt ist in der wir Leben. #linz #skulptur #vogelhaus #birdspace #kunst #klima

The exhibition BLIND SPOTS brings together the artistic positions of Martina Morger, Carolina Rivera Arboleda, and Simon Reitmann, who each explore what is hidden, overlooked, or structurally excluded in our society. Their works draw attention to themes and perspectives that are often neglected in public discourse, opening up new ways of seeing and reflecting. Martina Morger (FL) combines performance and multimedia. Her work questions power structures in digital and social systems. With a feminist perspective, she reveals neglected narratives – direct, performative, critical. Carolina Rivera Arboleda (AT/COL) explores the intersections of technology, spirituality, and Indigenous knowledge. Her works connect cyber intelligence, artificial intelligence, and ecofeminism. Digital media become tools for cultural reflection. Simon Reitmann (AT) works with light, shadow, and material. His sculptural interventions draw attention to what is often overlooked and subtly, yet lastingly, shift our perception. The exhibition BLIND SPOTS challenges familiar ways of seeing and makes the hidden visible. Through their artistic approaches, Morger, Rivera Arboleda, and Reitmann create spaces for new perception.
