✨ Doll-Making Workshop: Spirit in All Things
with Artist & aspiring Art Therapist Simeng Wang
In this 2-part workshop, offered over two consecutive Saturdays totaling 4 hours of creation, you’ll create your own Spirit Doll using a variety of crafting materials, guided by artist Simeng Wang. Your doll can become a companion, guide, guardian, or a reflection of something meaningful within your inner world.
H
Simeng’s practice is deeply inspired by her Chinese cultural background. Within ancient Chinese culture, there is a rich spiritual and expansive world in which all things are believed to carry spirit, or ling (灵). There are many different kinds of spiritual beings, such as jing (精), guai (怪), gui (鬼), xian (仙), yao (妖), and shen (神). In Chinese folk belief and storytelling, animals, plants, landscapes, and objects all have spirits, consciousness, or transformative power.
In this workshop, you are invited to craft a doll inspired by a spirit that truly speaks to your heart — something playful, protective, mysterious, or meaningful to your own inner world.

This workshop provides a supportive and inclusive indoor space for people to come together and build connection through guided mindful movement. The sequences are designed to help explore a healing dialogue between your own body and spirit, as well as engage in a non-verbal conversation with those around you. No experience is needed to participate! The guided workshop will introduce embodied practices such as meditation, energy flow, gestural expression, improvisation, and breathwork. You will be able to have fun, release, and enjoy connecting with yourself and others.
DM if you have any questions, hope to see you there😊
What an honor to have shared the journey with so many lovely people for five months last year! Thank you all so much for making my first acting experience a special one💗✨ I loved the stage and loved our energies during rehearsals. I've grown so much and learnt so much during the process. It was a challenge to rehearse four times a week, I cannot count the amount of times I fell asleep on the train heading to rehearsal straight from work, but we did it! 12 shows, and it was pure magic💛 Cant't wait to see where the magic goes next🧚♀️
