Good evening. I couldn’t forget to photograph this wall in the dark as well. During a car shoot in front of NDSM graffiti, people were kind to help illuminate our mural a bit with their carlight. 🙏🏼

RESIST / LYNX
This artwork deals with societal pressure and polarization, where opinions become increasingly strong and the loudest voices often receive the most attention. It also shows how difficult it can be to remain true to yourself while being constantly influenced by others, for example through social media or societal expectations.
The idea of “resist” is therefore not only about outward resistance, but also about the personal choice to stay true to oneself. In this context, the lynx symbolizes keen observation, independent thinking, and the ability to see through appearances. The artwork invites you to reflect on your own choices and to remain true to who you are.

Let me take you to 's-Hertogenbosch this week, for the third Spring of Colors' Graffiti Jam that took place last Saturday, April 4 at @hofdenbosch .
Jan Stel (Purmerend 1970), artist name Simbl (Symbol), is a versatile artist, he is active in several creative fields with a passion for street art and graffiti. Simbl has a background with drawing and painting. From an early age there has been a drive to make beautiful creative expressions and he has worked with many art materials over the years. In addition to street art, he is also a photographic artist, represented by 2 art galleries.
In the "old school" days (1988) he started to spray illegally. This only lasted for a short time. The production of full-color walls is his passion. Simbl does make street art on walls, (wooden) panels, canvas and whatever the customer prefers. The aim is not only to decorate the objects artistically, but also to attract and connect with the people who work, live or pass by daily.
For Simbl, art is a way to express himself creatively, and doing wall paintings is what makes him feel alive.

At De Omval in Amsterdam, beneath the railway tracks, street art has found a creative place. In collaboration with ‘We are InFaam’, an organization devoted to bring art into public spaces, many vibrant murals from well known artists have come to life.

In De Nieuwe Tuinderij-West, Zuidoostbeemster, a plain white Delta glasfiber utility has been transformed into a colorful little gem. Residents asked me to design something that better fit the neighborhood’s green character.
I have painted a classic Beemster landscape with sheep, a blossoming tree and a small river, echoing how the area once looked.
