This project brings together some of the most important artists and deepest friendships of my career, Herlin Riley, Anthony Wilson @wilsonthecurator , Peter Washington, Donald Vega @donaldvegamusic , recording engineer James Farber, photographer @carolfriedmanstudio , and and my longtime producer Joe Harley.
All the music you hear on this record is as it was played, Everybody in the room, playing live to analog tape, no edits. So set your clock back to 1958 and I hope you enjoyed the French Postcard.

Our BackCountry Jazz Summer Program kicks off on July 6th for an intensive four-week immersion into jazz.
Workshops, masterclasses, small group ensembles, jam sessions, and individual instruction fill each day of camp, and campers range from age 10-20.

The film will speak for itself … and that being said, Ms. Krall and I have a way of looking at music in some similar ways. I am being bold in speaking for her by speaking of what I have observed to-date.
1) It is hard work to give love via music … as it should be.
2) Music is healing … and we wish to be the way that it radiates out into the world at every opportunity.
3) To be able to give space to fellow musicians on the bandstand and to communicate while being wholly present via visual connection as the music unfolds, is a true blessing, and an honor to be granted the chance to do so.
4) Life is fun when you include friends.
